Welcome to The Greenhouse – the perfect rural village escape in Sussex. Based in Plumpton Green; close to the historic town of Lewes, the bright lights of Brighton & just minutes away from the glorious South Downs. Perfect for Plumpton Races, Glyndebourne (10 miles) & the Brighton Festival. Pubs aplenty, all offering fantastic food. Mainline station with direct access from Gatwick and London. The space The Greenhouse is situated at the rear of our main house and has its own private parking. It is entered via a large sun deck, perfect for lazy breakfasts, afternoon tea and sundowners. The main bedroom features a super comfy double bed, clothes storage and some hanging space. The double sofa in the main living space can also be pulled out to accommodate two further guests. A well-appointed galley kitchen includes a microwave oven, two hob rings and all the usual gadgetry to make cooking a cinch. If that's not your thing then visit one of the four pubs in the local area or treat yourselves to the fish and chips van (Tuesday evenings only). Wood fired pizzas are available outside the village shop on Wednesday evenings. The shop also stocks freshly made meals from Chaula's (Indian), Tiny Thai and Cook. Breakfast (bread, butter, jam and juice, tea/fresh coffee) will be left for guests to make themselves. (Please note that we provide enough for two days. If you're staying any longer, consider it a sort of 'starter kit'.) Guests will also have use of a padlocked shed to store bikes. Ideal for couples but families with babies welcome. Due to its size we recommend short stays only for parties of more than two. Guest access Further (free) parking is available along the main road. We are a 10-15 min walk from the train station. Please note that there is no street lighting in the village. There is a torch in the property but be prepared to bring your own! Other things to note The Greenhouse has it's own mobile wifi connection but because of where we are in the countryside, it can be temperamental. It's a portable unit so feel free to move it around to get the best coverage. Not ideal for remote workers but perfect for writers on retreat! Please note that the kitchen has a two ring induction hob and a microwave but no oven so save your baking for home 🧁🧁🧁
