The vacation home has been awarded 5 stars by the German Tourism Association. The house is lovingly decorated in the French country house style and equipped to a high standard. The approximately 1700 m² garden is completely fenced and borders on fields and meadows. This place is ideal for a nature vacation, hiking and vacation with a dog. We have completely renovated the house in 2021. Since June 2021, we have been renting it out as a vacation home. The vacation home (145 m²) is suitable for up to 6 people and has 3 bedrooms (3 box spring beds 180 x 200 cm) with 3 bathrooms for 2 people each. The entrance area leads into the spacious living /fireplace room and into the open kitchen. All three areas are on different levels, separated by two steps. Spend romantic evenings by the fireplace with a wonderful view of the valley. Slightly elevated, the panoramic level has a magnificent view of nature and up to the Frankfurt skyline 80 km away. From here, a terrace door leads to the spacious covered patio. The country house kitchen with an unforgettable panoramic view and two sloping skylights is the highest point of the wonderful open space. From here you enter the dressing room, then the bedroom with a French balcony and the tastefully furnished bathroom. The garden floor is also divided into different areas. In the east wing you enter a reading room, then a romantic bedroom with a French metal bed and access to the terrace and a bathroom with a bathtub. In the west wing there is a bedroom and bathroom with shower and Finnish sauna. From this bedroom you can reach the garden directly through a terrace door. Fast Wi-Fi is available to our guests free of charge. Just like the Finnish sauna, where you can relax after an active day. Afterwards, you can spend romantic evenings in the living room by the fireplace or the terrace with a distant view. Dogs are especially welcome here! Do you want to rent a vacation home that is also suitable for your dog? Then you have come to the right place! We attach importance to your pets feeling comfortable with us and keep a food bowl, a dog bed and dog towels available. We have completely fenced and secured the garden with a fixed wire fence up to a height of 140 cm. Location The cottage is located at the end of the weekend area Schotten-Betzenrod on the southern slope of the Vogelsberg, adjacent to fields and meadows. The fantastic panoramic view from the living room, kitchen and terrace, as well as the old trees in our park garden make the house something special. The hiking trails and mountain bike tours start right by the house and reward you with countless distant views and panoramic views. You can also take a trip to Hoherodskopf: many beautiful hiking trails start here, you can also discover the summer toboggan run and the climbing forest and plan ski downhill and especially cross-country skiing in winter. A visit to the towns of Laubach, Lich, Grünberg, Schotten and Hungen is also worthwhile. The Volcano Cycle Path and Southern Railway Cycle Path in the Vogelsberg offer about 145 km of traffic-free cycle paths, which have been expanded on old railway lines. You can come back with the Vulkan-Express – a shuttle bus with a bicycle trailer. The nature reserve at Hoherodskopf is about 10 minutes away by car and another wonderful starting point for hikes and activities in the countryside, such as summer toboggan run, climbing park, mini golf and geocaching. The beautiful half-timbered town of Schotten offers three attractions: Vogelpark - a zoo, Vulkaneum - a geological museum about the Vogelsberg and the Niddastauseee - a place for swimming and walking. Guest access You will have the house and garden to yourself.
