Cozy gîte in the French countryside

Long ago this house was a bakery with a bread oven, then it became a stable for cattle. We renovated it in 2019 into a comfortable 2-person gîte and we have preserved many of the old details. It is a cozy cottage with a lovely wood-burning stove where you immediately feel at home. PLEASE NOTE: Only bookable for 2 adults. The space The gîte is attractively furnished and is fully equipped with a wood stove, dishwasher, Nespresso machine, an oven and free WiFi. The garden of the gîte is enclosed. There are many pear and apple trees on our spacious grounds (over 7,000 m2). La Petitière is located at the end of a dead-end street in a rural setting just outside the small village of Mantilly. Our house and gite are located in the middle of the rolling countryside where the cows graze and the wheat grows. It is all nature here and super relaxing. Mantilly is in the Orne but touches the Manche and is close to Brittany. There are a lot of trips to be made from here. Both by bike and by car, something for everyone. Nice villages, museums, castles, Le Mont St Michel, cider and calvados houses and beautiful nature for lovely walks. But you can of course also find a nice spot in our large garden under an apple tree to sit with a book or music or in the evening with a fire pit to enjoy the starry sky. We have also built a cozy bar on our site in an old ruin for an aperitif at the end of the afternoon and for table d'hôtes (in July and August). In the summer we also have a mini campsite on our site . Only for adults. During the summer there will also be an above the ground pool of 5.5 meters in diameter that can be used by everyone. So for both the camping guests and the tenants of the gite. We also have 2 dogs (corgis), Dax and Fudge and many neighboring cows who are happy to welcome you. Other things to note Only for adults. There is also a mini campsite in the summer. Maximum 2 adults. In winter, when it is very cold outside, it is a little more difficult to keep the gîte warm. After all, it is not a modern house. But with the electric heaters, the wood stove and lovely warm rugs, it is super cozy and romantic. There's a basket of firewood waiting for you in the cottage, and it's free. Additional baskets cost €5 each. Please note: the stairs in the gite to the sleeping loft are quite steep. Good to know in advance.
