The space Decorated and furnished to a very high standard, Stables House has a lot of room! The sitting room is especially spacious but also extremely cosy; fully carpeted, log burner, central heating etc. And, because it faces south the sunshine streams in through the big downstairs windows most of the day... in good weather! The bedrooms are beautifully furnished with antique furniture, and all three bathrooms have underfloor heating as well as brilliant baths and/or showers. Masses of hot water. The pieces of antique furniture in the house lend a real sense of style. The sweeping staircase is breathtaking. The kitchen and pantry have all amenities including an Everhot cooker, Nespresso machine, microwave, lovely china and plates, glasses etc. There are also books, games, playing cards etc so a great place to be when the weather is bad or after a long day's walking in the dales. We are right on the Limestone Way - The walking is really good around Middleton and Youlgreave, and if you would like to be pointed in the right direction we would be only too pleased to help recommend a route. But all our guests just love staying at home - it is really comfy. After a couple of requests, we have brought an additional bed into the old bridle room downstairs. This room enables a 7th person to stay. It is a fun and quirky room, not quite as luxurious as the rooms upstairs, but cosy nonetheless with wood panelling from the old days. There is a private WC and sink (no shower) for the bridle room, and the bed is comfy. Guest access Stables House has its own private gate and private drive right to the front door. There is masses of parking, and acres of paddock giving total privacy. There is a sunny yard right outside the kitchen and the sitting room, with big glass doors/windows. It is really relaxing to sit here in good weather; warm and protected, nice plants, a wall fountain, outside furniture, barbecue etc. Inside and outside, the entire house is available for your use - no locked rooms, no out-of-bounds areas etc. while you are here Stables House is your home! Other things to note There is a garage below Stables House if you want to put your car under cover. There is also a place to securely lock away bicycles. If you want to arrive early, to drop off food and luggage etc, please ask. We may easily be able to accommodate this.
