The space Your home-from-home in Speyside, Whisky Country. First and foremost Glenarder is a calming retreat, a place to rewind, make memories and celebrate life events. The design aesthetic is modern country elegance with cozy functionality. Most importantly we aim to give you an authentic Scottish Highland living experience. DESIGN Glenarder started life as a shepherds summer cottage and was built by hand from fieldstone sourced within then properties grounds in the 1800’s. The cottage has recently been lovingly renovated and designed by ourselves, we come from a luxury fashion background which is reflected in the design and selection of exceptional furnishings, local design and detail. We have selected unique pieces from our travels around the world as well as many locally sourced and crafted products such as a lovelyJohnston's of Elgin tweed chair, Timorous Beasties wallpaper, Anta furnishings and cushions, a traditional tweed couch as well as textiles made only 2 km away at the Knockando Woollen Mill. The cottage features a large farmhouse chef’s kitchen designed by DeVol Kitchen’s. DeVol Kitchens are renowned for their beautifully simplicity & handcrafted kitchens, an ode to Modern Farmhouse design. The kitchen makes for a fantastic spot for breakfasts with sunrise views, entertaining and long end of day dinners around the handmade farmhouse dining table table. The kitchen is well sourced with dishes and cooking essentials such as spices, herbs and oils etc. The lounge features a wood burning fireplace, a large & comfy Harris Tweed designed couch, lovely views to the front of the property and Benrinnes. There are lots of books and blankets to keep you entertained and cozy. The second small lounge features a library of books, a pull out sofa bed and a small tv. Lounge: Sky TV with access to Netflix, Prime App’s etc, and vintage VCR movies. Bedrooms feature an extra large king bed, hand made and luxurious designed by Loaf, as well as two new double beds. All the beds are luxuriously made up with exceptional linens, cozy comforters and sumptuous bedding, ensuring great sleeps! Our wee blue library serves as a 3rd bedroom with a comfortable pull out couch and lovely bedding. The library room is filled with books, games and a second tv. We also use it as a little office space when there, granted the extr deep window ledge is your desk, but it works, gives your privacy and the views will make up for economy of space. The bathroom combines farmhouse modernity with soothing tones and textures. The bathroom features claw foot soaker tub and shower with beautiful artisan tiles and marble sink. Enjoy the selections of Made in Scotland bathroom shampoos and body washes fluffy towels and an a outstanding private view over the rear of the garden to the hills in the back. It's our 'mini Highland spa'! Outside we have set up a lovely stone patio area complete with new windbreaker fence, herb + flower beds, outdoors fire pit, bbq, picnic table and sun loungers. *Please see photo descriptions for further information about specifics and layout. Guest access Guests have sole access to the whole property set in 2 acres of private fenced in garden and property with a private road leading to the home. The views are open and unobstructed all around, Guests enjoy using our binoculars to watch deer, lots of bird life as well as birds of prey. *Please see bedroom and sleeping arrangement for lay out plan of beds to assure it fits your needs. Other things to note SLEEPING AND BEDROOMS: Please review bedding and bedroom layout to make sure it works for you. See our listing for exact details. The bedding arrangement consists of the following: 1. Master bedroom. One super king size bed - 2 persons. Lots of room for a baby or toddlers travel crib. There is also a chest of drawers, day seat and chaise longe. 2. Second bedroom. 2 double beds - 2-4 persons. Good for 2 -4 people. Storage wardrobe and chest of drawers. 3. Third room is a bedroom/library with a pull out sofa bed. Double size suitable for one adult/2 small children to sleep comfortable. it is a new and comfortable sofa bed with lovely bedding provided. This room can be used as an office space, library or 2nd living space. Great second space for groups to spread out. Or close the door behind you and keep it all to yourself! TV, games, books etc *All beds are standard UK size. Cleaning fee as applicable 1-6 person 75.00 GBP. Security deposit 7 days or more 150.00GBP Long stays 500.00GBP PLUMBING: We ask strictly no items such as diapers, baby wipes, body wipes, feminine products be out into the toilet. If guests block the toilet due to obstruction from these items they will be responsible for the cost of repair. FIREWOOD. We provide one nights firewood to get you started. Additional wood may be purchased from local garages or shops. LARDER SUPPLIES *Please note. We give access to basic larder supplies to guests 'in the sprit of generosity'. Although our aim is to keep it well stocked we cannot garantee that every item is there running low (depending on prevuous guests usage) or exactly the item you are looking for. In this situation you are able to any purchase basic supplies you may want or need at the local shop in Archiestown and Aberlour. Offcourse take any purchased items home with you. WINTER. ** In the winter a snow appropriate vehicle is strongly advised as our road in is a rural road, as is suggested for all your travels in this area in the winter. **In the case of severe snow, winter road forecasts and conditions or flight disruptions, it is sole the responsibility of the renter to make their own judgment with regard to travel. We cannot be held responsible for disruptions due to severe weather and delays or provide refunds for any cancelled reservation. CANCELATIONS Please read the cancellation policy on our listing. We cannot be held responsable for travel changes or cancellations beyond what the Airbnb agreed policy is. Please understand we block dates and are not able refill those dates at short notice.
