Bright, peaceful farmhouse, heart of the Berry

A bright, comfortable farmhouse for six, in a quiet village in the heart of the Berry. A place to truly unwind, with all the comfort of today and town just fifteen minutes away. Three spacious bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a large terrace and a private garden with a picnic table under the trees. Oak forests, abbeys, castles and fine local wine all around. The space Domaine des Chênes is a 150 m² Berrichonne farmhouse, fully renovated in 2025 into a light, open and contemporary space. The exterior kept its rural character, with white façades, wooden shutters and a striking terracotta-tiled roof. Inside: dark floors against light walls, exposed beams, slim steel windows and all the comfort of today. Sleeping. Three spacious bedrooms, room for six. The master is on the ground floor, with a 180 x 200 double bed and its own bathroom, handy if you would rather skip the stairs. Upstairs you will find a very spacious bedroom with another 180 x 200 bed and a lounge sofa to sink into, and a second roomy bedroom with two separate single beds. All beds are made up with fresh, high-quality linen, ready on arrival. Bathrooms. Two bathrooms, each with a walk-in rain shower: one en suite with the ground-floor master, one on the landing upstairs. Fresh, thick towels are ready for you. Cooking. A fully equipped kitchen with everything for a real holiday kitchen: oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, a large fridge with freezer and a coffee machine. Whether you are having a quiet breakfast or cooking for six in the evening, everything is at hand. Practical for a longer stay. A washing machine and dryer are ready for you, with an ironing board and iron. Handy for a week away or a family stay. Gathering. The kitchen flows into a spacious, warm living room with a cosy sitting area, a two-seater and an armchair around a flatscreen TV. The place where you settle in together in the evening. Outside. A large terrace with barbecue and parasol, for long evenings in the open air. Garden and grounds. Around the farmhouse you have your own spacious garden, with lawn and trees that give shade. Among the trees stands a picnic table, the perfect spot for an aperitif, breakfast or lunch in the shade. Plenty of room to play, relax or simply enjoy your coffee. Parking. Ample parking on the private grounds, including a covered spot. You park the car and never have to think about it again all holiday. Work too. Free wifi throughout the house, easily fast enough for video calls or a working week. On arrival. A welcome pack is ready for you, so you can settle straight in without having to shop first. Guest access The whole property is entirely yours: the house, the large private garden, the barn, the terrace and the parking on site. You enjoy all the space in complete peace, with no overlooking neighbours. As a guest, you also have exclusive access to a neighbouring private wood two kilometres away: an oak wood with a play area and a path running alongside a working farm with cattle and rare breeds of sheep. A unique spot for a family walk or simply to unwind. Other things to note Saint-Pierre-les-Étieux is a quiet village in the south of the Berry, where time seems to move a little slower. In the morning you mostly hear birdsong, and yet you are quickly back in the world: Saint-Amand-Montrond, with shops, markets and restaurants, is fifteen minutes away. There is plenty to do nearby. You can walk and cycle through oak forests and along the Canal de Berry, visit the beautiful Cistercian abbey of Noirlac and the castles of the Route Jacques Cœur, and in summer browse the flea markets and brocantes that pop up everywhere. And for food lovers: the green lentils of the Berry with their Label Rouge and IGP, fine goat's cheeses, and wines from nearby Châteaumeillant to the renowned Sancerre. Good to know: The price includes the fully equipped house, bed linen, towels, wifi and the digital welcome guide, with water and electricity included. The final cleaning and the washing and ironing of all linen are taken care of and brought into account when you make the reservation. Parking is free and ample on the private grounds, part of it covered. Check-in is between 3 and 6 pm (later check-in on demand), check-out before 11 am. We ask that you respect the quiet after 10pm. No smoking indoors. Pets are not allowed, due to possible allergies of our guests. Driving distances: Paris ±3h, Brussels ±6h, Amsterdam ±8h30. A car is recommended for exploring the region.
