Romantic Eco Shepherds Hut with Private Hot Tub

Pheasant's Roost is surprisingly spacious, en-suite, and private shepherds hut with wood-fired hot tub - perfect for romantic breaks. Spotlessly clean, eco-friendly with electric heating and log burner. Insulated for year round use. Shower room. Set in a small paddock with bbq, patio & table. Farmland views. Up to 2 dogs are welcome. Good pub serving food plus local shops 10 mins walk. Great base for touring York, East Coast and North York Moors. Market town of Malton 5m away. Lots of walks. The space Pheasants Roost is a luxury, en-suite shepherd’s hut with a private wood-fired hot tub. The hut is set in a small, peaceful paddock and looks out onto beautiful Yorkshire farmland and hills. The hot tub is filled with cold water for your arrival. It provides a relaxing, still-water experience for enjoying stunning sunsets or clear star-filled skies. Condensed heat logs, kindling and lighters are included in the cost (enough for 2 nights). If you prefer to arrive, drop off your bags and take a dip in a steaming hot tub then you can also book our ‘Drop and Dip’ for the first night which is an extra £28 to pre-heat the hot tub. Inside, there is a comfortable double bed with bed linen supplied, a TV, and USB sockets. Our visitors often comment on how well they sleep. A little log burner provides ample heat (some logs are supplied for this), or if you prefer to use the electric heater, the hut will be toasty in no time. The cabin’s en-suite shower room features a surprisingly powerful shower. Towels, shower mat and soap are supplied. There’s a fold down table for dining, and a kitchenette with all you need to prepare a meal. It includes: • 2 ring electric hob • Microwave with integrated grill • Small fridge • Butler style sink, plus washing-up liquid, sponge and cloth • Kettle, with welcome coffee, tea, milk, sugar and biscuits • A selection of cutlery, crockery and pans. Outside, in front of the shepherd’s hut is a grassed area, surrounded with tubs of flowers and herbs. You can often see pheasants, rabbits and other wildlife. There is also: • A small patio • reclining chairs • a small table for alfresco dining • bbq • a firepit • fleece blankets (on request) • A willow privacy fence 2 dogs are very welcome (please let us know if you are bringing them). We have a portable 1 metre high dog-fence available on request. Ask us if you need beds, bowls or dog towels. Explore North Yorkshire’s stunning countryside from the country lanes on our doorstep. The Wolds Way National Trail, a walking trail growing in popularity but still unspoiled, is just half a mile from the hut that offers great views and a variety of hills, woods and fields. Pheasant’s Roost is not too remote – with a pub serving food, a fish and chip takeaway and a shop with post office only a 10 minute walk away. We also have Rose Cottage on site - holiday accommodation with 2 bedroom that sleeps 4 people. It has its own private garden and a Jacuzzi style hot tub, and dogs also welcome. The properties can be booked together. Generally, Pheasant’s Roosts guests have sole use of the paddock as most guests respect each other’s privacy. The owners also live on site and are usually available. Guest access You are welcome to use a mini freezer and washing machine next to our shed by our other holiday accommodation. The freezer and the washing machine are both shared. There is one car space for Pheasant's Roost guests on-site, but if you wish to come in separate vehicles you can park outside on the grass verge. There is no provision for electric vehicle charging on site. Other things to note There is only one postcode for the village of Thorpe Bassett. From the A64 Pheasant's Roost is accessed from the FIRST house on the right passed the 30mph sign as you enter the village. There is one other holiday cottage on site. Please park to the RIGHT of the garage doors. The hot tub is filled with cold water ready for your arrival. We can supply all the logs, kindling and firelighters you need to heat the hot tub for 2 nights. Please let us know if you DON'T want to use it and we will reduce the cost of your booking. If you'd like to book the Drop and Dip (pre-heating of hot tub ) it is an additional £28 for the first night of your stay. Heating time depends on the outside temperature but 1 to 3 hours is usual.
