The space Our EifelChalet was built in 2017 as a log cabin and was used as a residential property until the end of 2024. This traditional, sustainable construction method is characterised by its natural appearance and, thanks to the use of timber, provides a pleasant living environment. Perfect for a cosy stay in the Vulkaneifel! Our cosy “EifelChalet Niederehe” is a project close to our hearts; we refurbished it at the end of 2024 and furnished and fitted it out with great attention to detail. By definition, a chalet is a mountain or alpine hut. But don’t worry – our EifelChalet is a cosy accommodation for up to 4 people, offering plenty of comfort for a relaxing stay with us. Our holiday home covers an area of just under 91 m² and has two bedrooms: The Cherry Blossom bedroom does not have a TV; the bed is 180 cm wide and 200 cm long; the Cosy bedroom has a TV; the bed is also 180 cm wide, but is a special length of 190 cm. You’ll also find a bathroom, a utility room, a hallway and a large living/dining room with a fully equipped kitchen. When booking, please let us know which of the two bedrooms you would like us to prepare for you. You are, of course, welcome to use both bedrooms – but we do need to know in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements. Adjacent to the large covered terrace is a lockable storage room for items such as bicycles or e-bikes. The chalet has a large garden area, which is for the exclusive use of our guests. A large car parking space is available on the grounds, right next to the holiday home. Whether you’d like to spend warm summer days in the Eifel or enjoy the winter here by a crackling fire in the stove, the EifelChalet Niederehe leaves nothing to be desired. Here you’ll find everything you need for relaxing days in the Vulkaneifel region. We are delighted that our ‘EifelChalet Niederehe’ was awarded 4 stars by the German Tourism Association in February 2025! Your holiday destination: Niederehe lies on the Eifelsteig and forms the 8th stage of the popular, 313-kilometre-long long-distance hiking trail from Aachen-Kornelimünster to Trier. The village is also crossed by the Hillesheim Geo-Trail, the Eifel Crime Trail and many other fantastic routes for walkers and, of course, cyclists, offering various levels of difficulty. Nearby towns include Hillesheim (approx. 8 km), Daun (approx. 20 km) and Gerolstein (approx. 16 km). The EifelChalet Niederehe is situated on the upper edge of the small valley basin of the Felschbach (Niedereher Bach), which later flows into the Ahbach. Our tranquil village is nestled between the two nature reserves: the Ahbachtal to the north and the Hönselberg to the south. Right from the garden gate, you can set off on a journey of discovery on foot or by bike. Right on our doorstep rises the 570-metre-high Hönselberg, the village’s local mountain, affectionately known to us all as ‘Hönsel’, which forms the centre of the nature reserve of the same name. The Hönselberg nature reserve is characterised by juniper heath, Schiffel heath and deciduous woodland. Numerous native orchid species can also be found here. Please do come and visit us and discover the fascinating Vulkaneifel. For motorsport fans, it’s not far to the Nürburgring either! We look forward to welcoming you! Guest access You will have the entire EifelChalet to yourselves and can make use of the terrace, the adjoining car park and a spacious, enclosed garden area. The chalet has its own entrance. Other things to note Information on accessibility at the EifelChalet: The house is built at ground level and is virtually barrier-free. There is just one low step at the entrance to the house, but this should not pose a problem even for wheelchair users. There is also one step leading from the terrace to the garden. The garden is accessible from the car park without any barriers. Note on the visitor’s levy: To promote regional tourism, overnight guests staying in accommodation within the Gerolstein municipal association have been required to pay a visitor’s levy of 0.75 euros per person per night since 1 January 2024. Children aged 0–5 and those travelling on business or for educational purposes are exempt from this levy. The visitor’s tax is not included in the booking price; it is charged separately by the accommodation provider and passed on to the Gerolstein municipal association.
