The Hayloft and Bothy at the Manor House Stables - TWO units in Martin near Woodhall Spa - Dogs Welcome!

Description

Cosy accommodation in beautifully restored stables in the village of Martin, located centrally in the county of Lincolnshire. Just 5 miles from the historic town of Woodhall Spa with its shops, restaurants, cinema, golf courses and aviation history, less than half an hour to Lincoln with its castle, cathedral and museums and just one hour's drive through the beautiful Wolds to the coast. Big skies, lots of stars, loads of walks and plenty of space to cycle makes this county a very special one! The space The Hayloft sleeps 2 in its relaxing bedroom, but it is also possible to bring your children with you too (max of 2) as they can sleep in the unusual box bed in the living area and they love it there! Your dog is welcome too, but please no large dog breeds and no excessive barking! A maximum of 2 dogs please. Also, please do not leave your dog along when you go out. About the accommodation - We carefully and lovingly restored our stables a few years ago using natural eco-friendly materials to create a beautiful space for people who want to relax and unwind. It is cosy, comfortable and warm, and the earthy colour schemes and internal decoration have been chosen to reflect its original use as a hayloft. Special features include exposed beams, lime-washed walls and other historic features as well as a wood-burning stove, an attractive wooden fridge, a copper spa bateau bath with twinkly lights above, an unusual box bed in the living area and a hamper of lovely goodies. You'll be treated to a loaf of plum bread, jam, chocolates, and wine. And there's also milk, butter, tea and coffee too. Other essentials such as loo paper, kitchen roll and cleaning products (all eco-friendly and sustainable products) are also provided. The warmth is provided by both the wood burner and the cast iron radiators and the heat is retained due to the amount of natural insulation we used in the restoration. You can relax on the comfortable sofa and chairs or in the box bed in the living area. Although the kitchen area is small, it has everything you need to cook up your dinner on the full size Rangemaster. The unusual wooden fridge is a great feature and the wooden table and chairs, Belfast sink and hand-made kitchen units all give the Hayloft a lovely farmhouse feel. The beamed bedroom, sleeping 2, is also cosy and warm and includes a small en-suite with toilet and sink. The King size bed is made up with cotton or linen sheets with a goose feather-filled duvet and you'll also have the use of cotton dressing gowns. This accommodation is perfect for 2 adults sleeping in the double bedroom, but the box bed in the living area means you can bring your children too (maximum of 2 sharing the box bed together). The main bathroom at the other end of the Hayloft is definitely worth spending plenty of time in! Not only does it have a large double shower, but you'll also find a deep copper spa bateau bath with coloured twinkly lights above - luxury! Eco-friendly and ethical toiletries are all provided. The Hayloft is basically just that - an old hayloft where they used to store the hay for the horses which lived in the stables below. It may also have been used as a sleeping space for the stable boys and shepherds who worked on the land owned by the wealthy farmer and his family living in the Manor House. Access is via an external stone staircase. At the bottom of the stairs and round the corner is your private little garden solely for the use of Hayloft guests. It has a wooden table and 4 chairs table, loungers, basket swing, bird-feeding table and a BBQ set, making it a lovely 'room' to relax in. Parking is just in front of the stables. The Hayloft is above the Bothy on the first floor and if you book both out, you can use the internal staircase to connect the two. There is loads to do in the local area. Once you are in the accommodation you will find a guide to the area , with recommendations of where to go, what to see, what to eat and where you can drink! Guest access Driving is the best way to see Lincolnshire as we are a large rural county and it is difficult to provide public transport to all areas. However, there is a train station at Metheringham, about 4 miles towards Lincoln and you can park there and take the train to Lincoln - it really is so much easier than parking in Lincoln! There's also a train south to Peterborough and on to London. There is ample safe space to park in front of the stables
