*BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED in the price shown.* Welcome to our charming cottage nestled in a quintessential Dorset village in the Bride Valley, a designated AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). With stunning views and fabulous walks from our doorstep, a friendly local pub, great days out and a vineyard in the village you’ll have everything you’ll need for your stay. We are a short drive to the spectacular UNESCO Jurassic coast, the County town of Dorchester, West Bay and Bridport Market town. The space Clover Cottage is a hidden gem in a quintessential ’picture postcard’ West Dorset village. We are tucked a short way up a secluded lane far from any road noise and you’ll have free off-road parking at the end of our garden. The Cottage oozes charm with its exposed oak beams and timber panelled walls. You’ll be made to feel very welcome and can enjoy the serenity of the countryside with fabulous views across the rolling hills of the Bride Valley both from your bedroom and from our patio and garden. There are beautiful walks direct from our door across the Bride Valley. There is a lake in the village where you can swim or hire paddle boards (seasonal), a friendly local pub that does great food and even a vineyard in the village (you can book a tasting and tour!) Guest access Your bedroom has a super comfortable double bed, antique dressing table, wardrobe space and tea and coffee making facilities. There are two chairs so you can relax. It also has a fabulous view! You’ll have sole use of the bathroom across the landing, which has a wonderful roll-top bath and a great power shower. Breakfast will be a continental breakfast with a choice of; croissants and toast, home made jam and marmalade, honey, granola, fresh fruit and yogurt. If you have any dietary requirements or special requests please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate these. You can enjoy your breakfast in our pretty dining room. If the weather permits you can enjoy your breakfast ‘al fresco’ on the south facing garden patio and enjoy the view. You’re also welcome to sit and relax in the garden seating area (hopefully in the evening sunshine) taking in the fabulous views. Our living room and kitchen areas will be for our sole use. We have a tv in the bedroom and you’ll be able to access our WiFi and use any personal devices. We also have plenty of books and board games for you to enjoy. You'll have use of a dedicated free off-road parking space at the end of the garden. Please note Clover Cottage is situated a short way up a private lane with part of the lane having an unmade road surface. This just means you need to drive gently for a few hundred yards towards the end of the lane. There is no public transport to/from the village so you’d really need a car unless you’re a keen walker! You can catch a bus from the bus stop (a 30 min walk up a steep hill) to Bridport and Lyme Regis going West or to Dorchester going East. During your stay Mary-Jane and Charlie will greet you on your arrival and can suggest a huge amount of wonderful things to do in the area; places to visit, what not to miss, where to get great food, gorgeous pubs, a little known ‘oasis’ in the heart of West Dorset and fabulous walks. We’ve created a Clover Cottage website for your use while you are here giving you a wealth of ideas for your stay. We’re a short drive to the beach and the fabulous Jurassic Coast a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its wonderful cliff top walks or you can walk along the famous Chesil Beach. Dorchester, Dorset’s bustling County town, is a 15 min drive away. The thriving, quirky and cultural historic market town of Bridport with its fantastic antique's quarter is a 15 minute drive in the other direction. The seaside harbour village of West Bay, now widely recognised as the setting for ITV's Award winning drama Broadchurch is also 15 minutes away. The quintessential Anglo-Saxon Dorset village of Abbotsbury is a 20 min drive along the scenic B3157 coast road, part of the Jurassic Coast Drive which runs from Exmouth in Devon and ends in Studland in Dorset and was voted one of the top 10 most scenic routes in the UK. A walk up to St Catherine’s Chapel in Abbotsbury gives you a fabulous view of the famous Chesil Beach and Portland on a clear day. The Abbotsbury Swannery is a delight to visit and their sub-tropical gardens and coffee shop is a must! The Symondsbury Estate with its wonderful cafe and shops, the iconic Colmer's Hill and the intriguing Holloways walk are within 20 mins. The Georgian seaside town of Lyme Regis, famous for its ammonites, with its stunning beach and curved harbour wall and Weymouth’s fabulous beach and historic harbour are all within a 30 min drive. Watch the yachts queue up to pass through Weymouth’s lifting Town Bridge. Spend the day on any one of Dorset's beautiful beaches. Hunt for fossils on the Jurassic Coast. Enjoy fantastic views from cliff- top walks. Browse artisan shops in Bridport and Lyme Regis. Visit the shops and cafe on the Symondsbury Estate and Abbotsbury and walk up the enchanting and iconic Colmer’s Hill. We can suggest many other less well-known, delightful places to explore on your visit. Whether you’re a walker who wants a stop off on your journey or a holiday maker wanting to explore what beautiful West Dorset has to offer or simply want to relax and enjoy the peace and beauty of the hidden gem that is the Bride Valley! PLEASE NOTE: Please note that we regret that we cannot accommodate pets. Our 1st floor windows have low window cills. For safety reasons we regret that we cannot accommodate infants or young children. Please note that, as with many historic properties in the area, our downstairs floor to ceiling height is a little lower than standard. The dining room, where you will have breakfast has a low door and a low oak beam. You can see this in the photos. This is all part of the charm of our cottage. Your bedroom and bathroom have standard floor to ceiling heights. Clover Cottage and its garden areas are strictly no smoking or vaping areas. We look forward to welcoming you to Clover Cottage.
