A charming shepherds hut situated close to the River Hamble in Swanwick, Hampshire, perfect for a cosy country retreat or weekend getaway. A family run small holding, Friends Farm offers an art gallery and café based in a renovated barn on site. Tucked away at the edge of woodland and old apple orchards with a view of the kitchen garden, the self-contained shepherds hut boasts plenty of outside space and features a veranda at the front with a seating area for two perfect for al fresco dining. The space The shepherds hut at Friends Farm has a charming, open plan design and unique, bespoke interior with rustic, solid oak work tops, woodburning stove and cosy furnishings. It is fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. It features a comfortable double bed, hot shower, towels and toiletries, separate self-contained state of the art eco toilet and well-equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, electric induction hob and combi oven (which doubles up as an air fryer) along with all the essential culinary equipment and larder staples you’ll need. Nestled in nature, the space is adorned with original artwork by resident artist Sue Rubira. You’ll find a bookshelf with a selection of books to read at your leisure in the cosy nook next to the log burner and a box of art materials including watercolour paints, paper and sketching pencils should you wish to get creatively inspired by the natural surroundings! The hideaway’s unique, curved living sedum roof changes colour with the seasons and provides a beautiful habitat for wildlife year-round, but especially pollinators in the spring and summer months. Our resident flock of friendly, free-ranging chickens provide us with delicious eggs for you to enjoy along with other seasonal goodies in your complementary breakfast hamper.
