The Old Stage Roadhouse, c. 1866

Literally the oldest house in the Salida area, this home has been lovingly restored with an eye to preserving its historical charm. Barnwood from the old outbuildings now make up most of the kitchen shelving. The decor is Salida farmhouse meets Old Mexico style. The front part of the home was constructed circa 1866 and is the only remaining structure from the otherwise vanished town of Cleora. Enjoy mountain views in all directions. From the front porch, hear the Arkansas River flow by. Other things to note The home used to be the post office and general store of said town, which is why it has two front doors (one going into the living room and the other into a bedroom with queen bed). King bed in master suite and the back bedroom has two twins, which can be converted into a king bed if that is preferred. Enjoy mountain views in all directions, and multiple outdoor garden/patio spots, so there's always a place to hang out in the sunshine or the shade, as you prefer.
