Picture Perfect Country House in Boylston
Description
Come relax, unwind, and explore all that Nova Scotia has to offer. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of country and seaside living, while taking advantage of modern conveniences. This spacious home with it’s surrounding gardens has tonnes to offer for all. The space Our 100 year-old home is situated on a hill overlooking the scenic Milford Haven river and is surrounded by perennial and vegetable gardens. This home and property is ideally suited to a family of four or couple looking for a quiet family vacation. Have your morning coffee on the front deck, watch the boats coming and going, lounge on the swing and catch up on some reading (or some zzz's), play some board games with friends/family, or relax in the courtyard garden while enjoying a glass of wine. On the main floor, guests will find a half washroom and laundry room (with washer and dryer), the living room, the dining room, and the kitchen - which has a full sized fridge, an oven/stove, and a dishwasher. Despite the fact that the layout of the home is open concept, it retains its historic character and coziness. The dining room boasts a somewhat-in-tune piano which guests are welcome to use, while in the living room, you are welcome to use our projector to watch movies from your preferred streaming service. We also have some board games like Scrabble, backgammon, Sequence, Operation, etc., plus many puzzles. We do ask that you do not touch the books on the book shelf as many are very old and valuable. In the event that you are visiting during the colder months, you should know that the home is heated with the wood stove in the kitchen, so it is important that this is something you are familiar and/or comfortable with. Upstairs, guests will have access to two of the four bedrooms; one bedroom with a queen-sized bed, and one with two twin-sized beds. Each bedroom has a dresser which we will partially empty for you to use. Two of the bedrooms will remain locked with our own personal items. Upstairs you will also find a full (but small) bathroom with tub/shower. Outside there are two sitting areas; one conversation set on the large deck at the front of the house, and a dining table in the courtyard garden at the back of the house. There is a hammock swing hanging in a beautifully shady butternut tree, which is a perfect spot to sit and read during a hot day. There is a fire pit at the back field where we have campfires. You may use the fire pit if restrictions allow, but please use only the wood that is piled on the cement pad nearest to the fire pit, *not* our winter firewood. There is a playground located a three-minute walk from our house. Nearby you will also find Hart's General Store. Located 10 minutes away in Guysborough, you will find a grocery store, an NSLC, a gas station, a seasonal ice cream shop, a cafe/restaurant, a seasonal art gallery, seasonal fresh fish/seafood market, and a pharmacy. Located 5 minutes down East Side Harbour is Treasure Mountain, a cute boutique which also rents out kayaks and paddle boards. If the beach is what you are after, there are many beaches nearby, with Port Shoreham just 10 minutes away by car. Guest access All parts except basement/cellar, and two private bedrooms which will remain locked during your stay. Other things to note You can reach me via text!
