Room in villa - Building Ronchelli
Room in villa - Building Ronchelli
Description
Historic residence from 1587 that belonged to the Visconti-Sforza of Milan as a "hunting lodge" The space Guests of Palazzo Ronchelli will experience the fascinating thrill of staying in a corner of the past. The building retains the atmosphere of cozy refinement and compositional harmony typical of the 18th-century Lombard residences, along with some evocative remains of the previous century. The transformation of a fortified structure, already existing in the 1400s, into a "hunting lodge" for local nobles dates back to 1587. Today, the structure with its classic architectural lines boasts arcades, colonnades with round vaults, marble fireplaces, living rooms with terracotta floors, Venetian mosaics, frescoes and coffered ceilings. At the entrance to the courtyard, a monumental wisteria welcomes us. This 300-year-old plant is considered one of the oldest in Europe: in spring its branches, which intertwine on the façade to cover an ancient sundial, are covered with clusters of infinite shades of purple.
