Cute cottage in a quiet village

Description

In a quiet village on the Suffolk coast, our cosy 230 year old cottage is the perfect place to enjoy all that this wonderful area has to offer. The cottage is cute and cosy, and is ideal for either a couple, or a family with up to 2 children. It is a quaint spot to unwind and explore the beautiful surrounds. Southwold, Dunwich and Walberswick beaches are a 15 minute drive, as are a whole host of other beauty spots and things to do. The space Our lovely family cottage is a magical spot, but it does have a few quirks which are important to note. Please read the listing in full before booking. PLEASE NOTE - The cottage is not suitable for groups of 4 adults. Due to the configuration of the bedrooms, we can only accept bookings for couples, with up to 2 children. -The stairs up to the bedrooms are steep and windy, this may not therefore be a suitable choice for those with mobility issues. BEDROOM 1 The main bedroom has a double bed, complete with fresh Egyptian cotton sheets and fluffy white towels. There is a small writing desk and a chest of drawers. BEDROOM 2 There is a second bedroom, which is suitable for up to 2 children. It is a newly-decorated twin room, with a sloping ceiling creating a cosy atmosphere. Access to this room is via the main bedroom, and the doorway to this room is very low. For this reason we cannot accept bookings for additional adults to sleep in this room. COTTAGE LIVING ROOM This room is the heart of the cottage, with a traditional brick floor, a comfy rocking chair, a wood-burning stove, and lots of board games. In this room we have revealed a little peak at the original wattle and daub construction of the house - a window into the history of an English country cottage! DINING ROOM The dining room has a table and chairs, a sofa, and French doors onto the front patio. CEILING HEIGHT The cottage was built around 1795, when people were much shorter! Guests should note that the ceilings on the ground floor are much lower than in a modern house. There is therefore a risk of banging your head in some of the doorways and on the beams. KITCHEN We have a small galley kitchen with an electric hob, oven and a small fridge. There is also a microwave and mini dishwasher in the outhouse. Look out for the exposed cobb walls, and beams for a truly authentic cottage experience. Our ceiling girders are railway tracks from the old tracks of the local rail network - mind your head on these! BATHROOM The bathroom requires refurbishment which is reflected in the lower price. It has a bathtub with a shower but, as with the rest of the house, the ceiling is very low. GARDEN There is a small front garden with a table and chairs. The back garden is awaiting landscaping so is not currently in use. You can however go into the garden to access the bins and to hang wet clothes. Other things to note The lane is very quiet and residential, please keep noise and music to a minimum after 10pm.
