Welcome to a more than 100-year-old house where historic charm meets modern comforts. Surrounded by peaceful countryside, less than an hour from Helsinki, the house is located in the historic Porkkala area. Here you’ll find a calm atmosphere, soft light, and a sense of time gently passing by – a place to relax, dream, and feel at home. We recommend the house for up to four adults or for a family with two adults and 2 - 3 children. The space You will have access to an 80 m² two‑storey heritage house with a Jugend‑style character. The old log walls and worn floorboards downstairs bring a sense of calm and history, while the well‑equipped kitchen and compact bathroom with a washing machine provide modern comfort. Upstairs, the atmosphere is created by the high sloped ceiling with exposed beams and the old wooden floorboards. A small upstairs toilet adds extra convenience. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, privacy, and closeness to nature, our place may be just right for you. The upstairs bedroom has a 180 × 200 cm double bed. In addition, there is a floor mattress measuring 80 x 190 cm. The downstairs sofa bed can be opened into a 140 × 200 cm bed, and the spare bed in the upstairs hallway measures 80 × 180 cm. From our place it is about 4 km to Meiko's outdoor area where there are nice hiking trails and swimming spots. When staying here, the nearest grocery store is Sale Lindal, located about 2.3 km away. It’s an enjoyable trip along a well-maintained walking and cycling path the entire way – perfect for a pleasant walk or bike ride. Bicycles are available for rent. You can also charge an electric car (max 11 kW). For families with children, we can provide items such as a crib, high chair, potty, and more. Please ask in advance about these additional services. Other things to note Please note that the staircase to the upper floor and doorways have a free height of 170 cm at the lowest point. The house is located 20 meters below the main house on the same yard, built on a slope. Despite this, it offers plenty of privacy, as all windows—except the porch—face away from the main house.
