Cottage in Grimscott

Top Shippon, a 200 year old former cobb barn has been lovingly converted into a stylish one bedroom cottage. It's a cosy, well equipped home from home and makes an ideal base for exploring North Cornwall & Devon. Located in a quiet village for those seeking a peaceful relaxing break, yet close enough to all the attractions of Bude. The space Top Shippon sleeps up to two adults. We can also accommodate one child over 4 years of age on a sofa bed in the living area, just let us know if this is required at time of booking. This is a ground floor cottage comprising one double bedroom and one bathroom with shower, WC, wash basin. Please be aware there is no bath. ​The living area is open plan with oak floors throughout, a comfortable sofa, seperate chair, 42 inch flat screen smart TV and woodburner. We provide a small supply of free logs and fire lighters for guests to use. The living area also contains a dining table and 4 chairs and a fully equipped kitchen, which includes an integrated oven with grill, 4 ring hob, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, washing machine. There is no dishwasher in this property. The cottage is enhanced with soft lighting and velux windows to bring in the natural light. Outside there is a small patio area to the front with seating and large drive shared with our cottage next door which is also a holiday let. There is one parking space per cottage. **If you prefer exclusive use of the outdoor area, please let us know before booking and we will check if this is possible. ​Bed linen and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach and dog towels. Guest access The cottage can be accessed from 4pm on your arrival day. Please park to the far side of the drive (closest to the shed). Other things to note We ask guests to exercise caution when entering or leaving by car as the cottage is located on a bend in the road. Mobile phone signal can be unreliable depending on your network, but the cottage is equiped with wifi. Wifi calling works well. We do not have an EV charging station, and we ask our guests not to charge their vehicles at the cottage. The Nearest EV charging stations are located at Bude and Holsworthy, (approx 10 minutes away). As a result of our fire risk assessment barbeques are not permitted as we have 2 LPG tanks situated on the premises. This property is not suitable for children under 4 years old. We welcome up to 2 dogs in Top Shippon. If you wish to bring a dog/s, please confirm at time of booking. Pets, where allowed, are to be kept under control. Pets are not permitted on the bed. Pets must not be left in the property unsupervised at any time. The owners do not accept any responsibility for the safety of pets.
