The space Le Blanc Spa is a fully self-contained gîte set within the grounds of our gated home in the beautiful Charente countryside, overlooking the Argentor Valley. Designed for comfort and relaxation, the gîte offers: • Private entrance and gated parking • Spacious super king bedroom on the lower level (kept naturally cool in summer) • En-suite bathroom with large Italian walk-in shower • Bright open-plan kitchen, dining and living area upstairs with stunning valley views • South-facing private terrace for outdoor dining and relaxing Outside, guests enjoy exclusive use of a 5m x 3m swimming pool (unheated), pool terrace, outdoor bar area with dartboard, and a table tennis table on the lawn. The layout of the property makes it ideal for couples seeking privacy, peace and beautiful surroundings, with everything you need for a comfortable countryside escape. Guest access Guests (adults aged 18 +)have exclusive access to the entire gîte, including private entrance and terrace, as well as sole and private use of the swimming pool, pool terrace and outdoor bar area throughout their stay. The swimming pool (5m x 3m, unheated) is located within the grounds of the property and is not shared. Although visible from the main house, it is reserved entirely for guests whilst st the property. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the outdoor leisure facilities, including the dartboard in the bar area and the table tennis table on the lawn. The property is set within secure gated grounds with private parking available on site. Other things to note A car is highly recommended to make the most of your stay, as the gîte is located in a peaceful rural setting with many local villages, markets and attractions within driving distance. The swimming pool is seasonal and is usually open from late May until the end of September, depending on weather conditions. The opening times are 10 am to 8 pm. Pool access is restricted to adults only . No nighttime swimming is allowed. The property is best suited to guests looking for a quiet countryside escape, surrounded by nature, walking and cycling routes, and traditional French village life. Popular day trips include: • Nanteuil-en-Vallée (5 minutes) – a beautiful village with riverside walks, cafés, parks and historic charm • Verteuil-sur-Charente (10 minutes) – one of the region's most beautiful villages, famous for its fairy-tale château, riverside setting, quaint cafés and relaxed French atmosphere • Angoulême (40 minutes) – a beautiful historic city with cobbled streets, boutique shops, excellent restaurants and panoramic views over the Charente countryside • Cognac (1 hour) – home to world-famous distilleries including Hennessy and Courvoisier, offering tours and tastings • Saint-Émilion (1 hour 45 minutes) – a UNESCO-listed wine village renowned for its vineyards, history and exceptional wines • Bordeaux (2 hours) – an elegant city known for world-class wine, dining, architecture and culture • La Rochelle (2 hours) – a charming coastal city with beaches, seafood restaurants, a historic harbour and island day trips The Charente region is ideal for kayaking on the river, exploring local markets, cycling quiet country roads, and enjoying long lunches in the sunshine.
