Located in a quiet rural area, “Hitokoki: A Place to Experience Life” is a small inn in a renovated traditional house that is approximately 80 years old, and is limited to two groups per day.Here, you can enjoy the luxury of doing nothing and a stay that feels like living there. There is a Japanese-style room with tatami mats, a Western-style room with the warmth of wood, and a shared space surrounded by books, so you can enjoy reading and talking at your leisure.Wi-Fi is available, kitchen is available, parking is available, and it is also recommended for longer stays and workations. It is also suitable for long-term stays by remote workers, such as engineers and designers, who want to concentrate on their work in a quiet environment. The wood-fired sauna where you can enjoy the lowry is exceptional for outdoor bathing in nature.Upon request, we can also provide “lifestyle experiences,” such as seasonal farm work, handicraft workshops, and opportunities to interact with local people.Please enjoy a meal prepared with local ingredients and spend some time gently immersing yourself in the daily life of Nishi-Aizu. The location is Uenojiri Village, Nishiaizu Town, Fukushima Prefecture.8-minute walk from JR Banetsu West Line Uenoejiri Station. We can also arrange pick-up and drop-off from Aizu Wakamatsu Station.Check-in 3 pm - 6 pm / Check-out - 10 am.Children under 3 years old sleeping with parents are free, pets are not allowed. Check-in: 15:00 ~ 19:00 Check out by 10:00 *Check-in time can be adjusted depending on the train's arrival time.Please contact us. ■ Bedrooms (multiple rooms) There are multiple bedrooms, including Japanese-style and Western-style rooms, and guests can sleep on futons or beds.We can accommodate groups and families, and we will let you know the room layout and bedding configuration based on the number of guests. ■ Shared living room It's a space where you can gather with family and friends.You can use it as a place to enjoy a relaxing time, whether for dining, socializing, reading, or teleworking. ■ Kitchen Basic cooking utensils and dishes are provided, so you can cook your own meals. However, because the kitchen is a renovated traditional house kitchen, we recommend that, rather than doing extensive cooking, you bring in food purchased at local supermarkets or stores, or dine at local restaurants. For a separate fee, we can also offer a plan where you prepare dinner while interacting with the owner, or we can provide breakfast. ■ -Bath room You are welcome to use the shower freely.Since there is no reheating function, if you use the bathtub, you will need to refill it with hot water each time.Therefore, there is a charge of ¥300 per use of the bathtub. For larger groups, we also recommend using the hot spring facility located about 10 minutes away by car (hot spring fee: ¥500 per adult, ¥300 per child per visit).We can also pick you up and drop you off ■ Sauna This plan also includes the sauna fee.Sauna hours are 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Since it is a wood-burning fireplace, the owner will light the fire. You can also join in with wood chopping and fire building! Please let us know in advance by message if you would like to use it, as it will be necessary to make preparations. ■ Toilet There are two unisex toilets. ■ About the washing machine You can use the washing machine (¥100 per load).There is no dryer. If you would like to use a dryer, please use the coin-operated laundry located about a 10-minute drive away. ■ Amenities We provide shampoo, conditioner, body soap, bath towels, face towels, a hair dryer, cotton, cotton swabs, facial cleanser, lotion, moisturizer, and makeup remover. *Please bring toothbrushes and sleeping clothes with you. ■ Kitchen facilities This is a cozy kitchen in a renovated traditional house. Please note that, as this property is a farmhouse inn, the owner usually provides meals for guests, so cooking utensils and equipment are available. We recommend staying with meals included, but you can do some light cooking, such as simple meal preparation or reheating. A gas stove (2 burners), refrigerator with freezer, microwave, water dispenser, coffee grinder, coffee dripper, electric grinder, frying pans, pots, knives, measuring utensils, bowls, colanders, glasses, dishes, cutlery, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and more are available for your use. ■ Condiments Basic condiments are provided for you. ■ Other facilities There are also kid-friendly play items such as a Bluetooth speaker, a projector, indoor slippers, outdoor sandals, board games, and a play kitchen. ■ Meal Options ・Dinner plan with the owner: 3,000 yen per person ・Aizu horse meat and ingredient set: ¥3,000–¥4,000 per person ・Breakfast 1,500 yen per person *Please let us know at the time of booking if you would like to use this service. *Please also let me know if you have any allergies. *We use homegrown rice and miso from a miso shop in the village.Our vegetables are mainly sourced from Aizu. ■ About the natural environment and insects Because the property is surrounded by nature, insects may enter the house in certain seasons.Thank you for your understanding. Respect for the ■ neighborhood It is surrounded by a quiet residential area.Please refrain from activities that may cause a nuisance to the neighbors, such as eating, drinking, or setting off fireworks outdoors after 8:00 p.m.No large parties. Please also be quiet and keep your voices down inside the building after 9:00 p.m. About ■ smoking All rooms in the building are non-smoking. Please smoke only in designated areas outside. ■ About the steps in the facility As the building is a renovated traditional house, there are steps inside the building. Also, please be aware that the bedrooms are on the second floor, so this may be a concern for those who are not comfortable with stairs. About ■ your host The host is stationed in the on-site manager's office or in the nearby management building (separate building). We may enter the building to prepare meals, etc.After check-in, we will not enter the second floor where the room is located. About ■ the key There are no locks on the rooms, so please take care of your valuables yourself.The building entrance is locked. ■ Transportation ・By car: About 10 minutes from the Nishi-Aizu Interchange on the Ban-etsu Expressway ・ Bus: There is a highway bus from Shinjuku to Aizu Wakamatsu station ・Train: About a 7–8-minute walk from Kaminojiri Station on the JR Ban'etsu West Line If you would like transportation to Aizu-Wakamatsu Station or other locations, please let us know at least one week in advance (we will charge you separately for the actual cost of gasoline and the expressway toll). We recommend coming by car. ■ Neighborhood Facilities There is one store within walking distance (it does not sell fresh produce). The nearest convenience store is about a 10-minute drive away, and it is not possible to get there on foot, so we recommend that you do your shopping before check-in. ■ Other items As we are renovating a building that is around 100 years old, please be careful when using the fixtures and fittings. If there is any damage to the building or facilities, soiling, or loss of equipment during your stay, you may be charged the actual cost, depending on the circumstances.
