The Cottage

‘The Cottage’ in Irchester is a tiny getaway for a couple. It consists of a bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom has a double bed, tv, Roku, freeview box, small dining area with crockery and cutlery should you wish to have a take-away, tea/coffee making facilities and a mini fridge. There is a shower room with a walk-in shower. Outside you will find a courtyard with a seating/dining area under a large gazebo. This will be for your private use. There is private parking on a gated gravel drive. The space We live in a large detached Edwardian property. ‘The Cottage’ used to be the wash house and outside toilet. It was converted in the 1950’s into a hair salon for the lady of the house to run her business from. When we purchased the property 11 years ago it was derelict and needed complete refurbishment. We did however repurpose the original sink and mirror from the salon into the bathroom. There is a courtyard to the rear of the main house where ‘The Cottage’ is located. The front of the property consists of a large gravel driveway, lawn, vegetable patch and a wooden gazebo can be found behind the water feature. Guest access The gazebo outside of ‘The Cottage’ will be your private space during your stay. Other things to note There are many places of interest in the local area: •Rushden Lakes shopping Centre •Santa Pod •Chester House Estate •Stanwick Lakes •Irchester Country Park •Saxby’s Cider •Hinwick Hall •Hinwick House •Tofte Manor The village offers several great dining options, The Pear Tree Café which serves a lovely breakfast, Jomidar Cottage - a popular Indian restaurant and takeaway and The Carpenters Arms- the village pub. There are also numerous other takeaway choices, along with a CO-OP and a Premier Shop—all within a short walk.
