The rural surroundings and the Pyrenees are home to many beautiful hiking trails, and adrenaline junkies can enjoy a great rafting adventure in the gorges of the Nive. Head to Biarritz for some shopping and experience Basque cuisine in one of the city's many restaurants. You can then stretch your legs by the sea. In the charming harbour town of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, where traditional festivities take place regularly throughout the year, there is a nice selection of bars for an evening chat.
