In the hills, in Barni, between the lake and the mountains, 12 km from Bellagio, a villa with a garden and swimming pool, veranda, and solarium. The space The villa, dating from the early 1900s, with period floors and parquet, has undergone a conservation restoration that has preserved the original doors and window frames. Furnished with restored antique furniture given a modern twist, it features a large outdoor area and a private garden. In the early 1900s, Milan's most prominent families (entrepreneurs, industrialists, doctors, professionals, etc.) built their vacation homes in the hills around Lake Como, drawn by the temperate climate, which is cooler than that of the lowland cities and lakeside towns. For these historical reasons, a 5-minute drive from Barni, in Asso/Canzo, there is a train station (in operation since 1922) that takes just over an hour to reach Milan Cadorna, the beating heart of the Lombard metropolis. Overlooking the green, rolling hills of Lake Como, the villa is ideal for those who want an authentic vacation experience and for those who appreciate beauty in simple things, with the typical style of a country house, reinterpreted in a modern way to make your stay more comfortable. If your ideal stay on Lake Como is a luxurious villa with a lake view, an infinity pool, and the amenities you would find in a luxury hotel, our “vacation home” may not meet your expectations. Therefore, if you are looking for luxury, we recommend that you find a “Luxury” option in nearby Bellagio, which is famous worldwide for its beauty but also for its exclusive hotels and high-end villas. On the other hand, if you believe that “beauty” can be found in authentic houses with a story to tell, and if you want to connect with a real town, your stay in our villa will be unforgettable. Perfect for a relaxing and simple vacation, the villa is surrounded by nature and the tranquility of a small rural village. It is ideal for large families with children, friends, couples, team-building groups, small work groups, cyclists, and sports teams. In addition to offering plenty of common areas, everyone can still enjoy their own privacy. Perfect for family reunions but also for celebrating birthdays, wedding anniversaries, stag/hen parties, and for accommodating guests attending weddings and ceremonies on Lake Como, thanks in part to its proximity to “La Madonnina di Barni” and “Villa Pietraluna,” both of which specialize in weddings. Guest access The villa, which is fully fenced and located in a secluded area, is for the exclusive use of those who book it, and the indoor and outdoor areas are available only to the group that made the booking. The house, heated in the mid-seasons and during the winter by natural gas radiators, is arranged on two floors, but guests will only have access to the mezzanine floor, as the first floor will remain closed. - Mezzanine floor with kitchen, dining room, living room, 3 bedrooms (2 quadruple and 1 double), 2 bathrooms, closet, and direct access to the large garden. The large above-ground pool (length 6 m, width 3 m, depth 1.30 m), equipped with a safety ladder that can be removed to prevent access by young children, is only available during the summer months, roughly from mid-May to mid-October. Pedestrian access to the villa is possible from Via Cristoforo Colombo 34, crossing the bridge over the Lambro River from the public parking lot in front of the preschool on Via Cristoforo Colombo. Access to the private parking area at the back of the villa is possible from Via Lűbert 5. Other things to note When you arrive, you will find the house clean and fragrant, the bedrooms ready with the beds made, and a complete set of bath towels for each guest. The large swimming pool is available only in the summer months, roughly from mid/late May to mid-October. The property does not accept credit cards and/or debit cards. Any EXTRAS (heating, late check-out, late check-in, early check-in, etc.) must be paid for using the “Resolve” feature provided by AIRBNB. When you arrive at our villa, you will find everything you need to enjoy your vacation in peace, including Wi-Fi and private parking! The house is equipped to accommodate families with children of all ages. The rooms are carefully prepared according to the needs of each individual family, with cribs, cots, changing tables, a bathtub, bed rails for single beds, and many useful accessories to make our guests' vacation easier. You won't find electronic games, but you will find plenty of “old-fashioned” games to enjoy quality time together around the table or in the garden! In the room where the children play, there is a tree-shaped bookcase with fairy tale books in many languages on the branches, as well as lots of indoor games and board games. In the garden, we have set up plenty of play equipment (a swing, a rocking chair, a trampoline, a mini slide, soccer goals, playhouses, toy cars, ride-on toys, and children's bicycles) to keep the kids busy and allow the grown-ups to relax and feel like they're on vacation.
