Two bedrooms plus a pull out couch, a chef-outfitted kitchen built to actually cook in, and a breathtaking master bathroom. Two kayaks, a canoe and a skiff, a public boat launch, and a fully stocked pond ideal for fishing. Dogs welcome. Self check-in. Foxwoods + Mohegan Sun Casino: 20 min. The space Arbor Retreat is a cozy cottage tucked back in the woods on the shore of Aspinook Pond with a deck overlooking the water accessible directly from the master bedroom. The cottage was built in 1967 and over the past year went through a complete renovation which was finished in March, 2026. The cottage has one master bedroom with an attached master bathroom. The master bedroom sleeps two in a brand new, heated, Tempur-Pedic king size bed. There is a full size heated bed in a private loft above the main room of the cottage. Like all full size beds, it can sleep one person comfortably, or two people if needed but that might be a tight squeeze. There is a pull out couch in the living room with a queen size mattress and an extra mattress topper added for comfort. This will comfortably sleep two people as well. The cottage is about 1200 square feet so while it technically can sleep six people, it could feel a little bit tight. This property is directly on the water. There are stairs that go down to a dock but these are under construction at the moment and guests are asked to avoid using the stairs until the repairs are complete. In the meantime, there is a public boat launch for anyone looking to take out the kayaks or canoe only a 3 minute walk down the road. The kayaks are on dollies so they are very easy to transport to the boat launch. This home is perfect for nature lovers who are seaking serenity, people who want to spend the day on the pond fishing, or anyone who just appreciates being able to look out the dining room window and see turtles, herons, loons, beavers, geese and all sorts of other wildlife. The cottage is also close to both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casino, as well as golf courses, numerous state parks for hiking, picnics and swimming, a movie theater for rainy days, and outlet shopping.
