Spacious double bedroom in the garden level of beautiful townhouse in the heart of twin Highland villages of Dunkeld and Birnam. Excellent location for hiking, mountain biking, and other Highland tourism. A shared garden for summer dining. 5 min walk from Dunkeld & Birnam train. My family of three (parents, child) live here full-time, and we're happy to welcome you to our home. The space Our home is a gothic Victorian townhouse built in 1856, when Birnam was the end of the railroad line heading north. It's a 5 minute walk from the Dunkeld & Birnam train station, which has direct travel to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Inverness -- a perfect location for exploring Scotland. We're right in the heart of Birnam, where you'll have easy access to the Birnam Arts centre across the street, the Birnam Inn pub is also a quick walk across the corner. Or head across the bridge to Dunkeld for access to more restaurants and bars. Easily accessible for walking at the Heritage Woodland trail, lots of mountain biking, wild swimming in the Tay, and so much gorgeous scenery. My family of three (two parents, one child) live here, with our dachshund Fritz. We have restored our home to be modern and comfortable, while preserving the historic character of the building. Licence No: PK13447F Guest access You'll have your own double bedroom in the garden level. There is an en-suite bathroom with shower. The house is access from the front door on Station Road, and then you can head to your room without interacting with the family if you prefer. We use the upper levels of the house for our home life, and your guest room is in the garden level. There is a second double bedroom on the same level, so there may be additional guests in the space during your stay. During your stay We like to meet our guests upon arrival, but other than that you're welcome to keep to yourself or interact as much as you'd like. We have a curious dachshund, Fritz, who will also like to say hello. Other things to note Please note: My family lives here full-time. We are upstairs, this bedroom is in the garden level. This is a room in a family home. It is comfortable, clean, and spacious, but this is not a hotel and it won’t be perfectly quiet during the day. We have a small dog so this home is not appropriate for people with dog allergies. The bedroom is in the garden level, so it is unfortunately not accessible for people who have difficulty navigating stairs. This is my family home, and as such we ask that you treat it with respect and care. Please keep things neat and tidy, and quiet at night. Please take your shoes off at the entryway.
