The village of Hamfelde at the gates of Hamburg has approx. 600 inhabitants and a pair of storks that regularly come to us from Africa at the beginning of April and leave us at the end of August with a growing family. In the village, there is a restaurant in an old windmill, a village cloister and a small liquor factory. In Trittau, 2 km away, you will find all the amenities. Worthwhile tourist destinations In the neighboring village of Hamfelde/Stormann there is a popular excursion destination "Waldeslust" 15 minutes' walk from the old post office. 20 min: walk to the Hahnheider Tower, with the highest observation deck in Schleswig Holstein (125 m above sea level). 5 minutes by car: Restaurant Grander Mühle, the oldest grain water mill in northern Germany (anno 1248). 15 min. drive: Bismarck Mausoleum, Bismarck Museum, Butterfly Garden, High Ropes Climbing Garden in Friedrichsruh. 30 minutes by car: Renaissance castle Ahrensburg, surrounded by a moat.
