Henley River Lodge

Henley River Lodge is a private self-catering lodge on the banks of the Klip River, 45km south of Johannesburg. 4 luxuriously appointed bedrooms (3 en suite) are available, 3 with river view, aircon & bathrooms with underfloor heating, premium bedding & finishes. Patio & river BBQ with a great fire-pit. The space Henley River Lodge is designed as an exclusive use facility. This means whether you book one, two or all four rooms, you will never have to share with other guests. Unbooked rooms are locked & the rest of the lodge is exclusively yours. This may make it a little more expensive than other guest houses if there's only two of you staying, but the extra privacy and large area you have is well worth it. Our base rate is R1500 per night for 1-2 guests sharing 1 room, thereafter R500 per guest sharing per night. Single occupancy rates for corporates are: 1 room R1500 per night 2 rooms R2500 per night 3 rooms R3500 per night 4 rooms R4500 per night There are 4 bedrooms, all with Queen size beds, and 4 bathrooms, 3 of which are en-suite. All bathrooms are finished in genuine marble, & have underfloor heating. 2 of the bathrooms have unique glass roofs. The open plan lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen open onto a patio with views down to the river. The property is peaceful & you may be disturbed only by the abundant birdlife and water fowl. You may barbeque (braai in our lingo) on the patio with the Weber BBQ supplied, or use the stunning area by the river's edge which has a fire pit with wash & prep area and another BBQ, under large trees, sunny in winter & shaded in summer. The garden is 1 acre (4000 sqm) and is located directly on the Klip River. Please note we do not recommend swimming in the river, and guests need to take care with children and guests who may not be able to swim. The lodge has a gas/electric stove, with backup power for lighting & wifi to make your stay uninterrupted by load shedding, periodic power cuts which has unfortunately become commonplace in our country now. Guest access Guests have private use of the entire property. However please note to make it affordable for smaller groups any unbooked rooms will be locked and not let out to other guests. You do need to advise us of your exact group size & room requirements to ensure you are allocated the required rooms for your stay. Other things to note The lodge is on the river so you are welcome to fish or bring your own canoe/small paddle boat. The max power boat motor size is 10hp. However please take due care with children as the lodge is not responsible in any way for the safety of guests. The river can flood during the rainy season and can be dangerously fast flowing. The lodge requires a R2000 refundable security deposit. This is held to cover breakages or damages and is refunded to the guest within 48hrs of their departure.
