Many sunscreens contain avobenzone, a filter that reacts with chlorine and can stain light-coloured fabrics yellow or orange, particularly swimwear. This is a well-known reaction between cosmetics and the chemistry of any pool, unrelated to water maintenance, and we are therefore unable to accept responsibility for staining to personal garments. Sunscreen oils and filters also affect the clarity and chemical balance of the water, so we kindly ask you to shower before each swim: it greatly reduces the risk of staining and helps keep the pool in the best possible condition throughout your stay. With intensive use, it is normal for the water to lose a little clarity from time to time; our maintenance service checks it regularly and restores the correct levels.
