Parnacott House is a very beautiful family run holiday home, sleeping up to 14, it combines the best of coast and countryside. Set amidst lawns, trees and fields this spacious and comfortable house, within easy driving distance of the award winning resort of Bude, provides the perfect venue for family holidays, friends reuniting and special anniversary celebrations. Child and dog friendly, Parnacott is ideal for 3 or 4 generations coming together to enjoy family time and create lasting memories. Stays out of the High Season are also very popular and provide the perfect opportunity for town and city dwellers to unwind and relax. The house is in one of the most beautiful corners of west Devon - just 8 miles from sand, surf and sea. It is the perfect base for exploring the South West coastal footpath, the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the north up to Hartland, and our two local moors, Dartmoor and Bodmin. Surfing is very popular with several local, sandy beaches to choose from: Summerleaze at Bude, Widemouth, Duckpool and Sandy Mouth. Most beaches are dog friendly. Body boards and beach kit are here for you to borrow – book a surfing lesson online before you arrive! For most of the summer RNLI Lifeguards patrol local beaches. Golf is just 5 minutes away at the local Golf Club and Bude has an excellent dune course. Parnacott, with its large garden and grounds, is particularly suited to children of all ages. Outdoors, croquet or badminton, cricket, soft ball or football on the lawn, while in the Open Barn there is table tennis. Inside the house, lots of dressing up clothes, a small puppet theatre, glove puppets, puzzles, some toys, games and masses of books. There is a pool table, an Xbox 360, a PS 2 and Wii. Fast Airband Wi-Fi is free of charge. By way of contrast there are also rooms for good conversation, music, board games, cards and more tranquil moments. Alfresco meals are always popular in good weather. There is a large charcoal BBQ and plenty of wooden garden furniture. A home chef is available by arrangement and many groups have enjoyed being cooked for and waited upon in the handsome Georgian dining room. Spring, autumn and winter visitors enjoy the open fire in the drawing room and the stove in the sitting/breakfast room next to the kitchen. Christmas and New Year weeks are very beautiful. Parnacott has been in the Vowler family for over 400 years - its history is a rich one.
