The space Located in a historic mid-century home designed by Victor Steinbrueck, architect of the Seattle Space Needle, and built for renowned artist Alden Mason, this studio offers a cozy and design-forward place to stay. Note: There is major construction happening in the bay in front of our house. We have not been given set dates of when the project will be loud and disruptive, and so far, there have only been a handful of days when that has been the case. We do not want any of our guests to experience that during their stay. Please reach out to Maile, our House Manager, who is getting weekly updates on the status of the road project and can let you know, to the best of our ability, if your dates will be during the quiet periods. The Studio The studio includes: •Queen bed •Private bathroom with shower •Kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave, and coffee supplies •Air conditioning •Separate private entrance Location The property sits above the street in Seattle’s Portage Bay neighborhood, with views toward the marina and Portage Bay. The neighborhood is considered safe and residential, while still being conveniently located between downtown Seattle and the University District. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE: •We require all of our guests to sign a rental agreement before staying at the Portage Bay Studio. We send it out after booking and you will be able to do an electronic signature online. Good to Know •Street parking only. Depending on the construction phase, the city will put No Parking placards in front of the house. When this happens, there is still free street parking a few doors down from our front steps. •Approximately 18 stairs from the street to reach the property •This listing is for the private downstairs studio only, which has its own entrance. The upstairs two-bedroom home may be rented to other guests during your stay. •Dogs are allowed with approval and an additional pet fee •Located near the SR-520 corridor, where construction activity may occasionally be visible or audible during weekday hours A great option for guests looking for a unique architectural stay in Seattle. Guest access No access allowed to the rest of the property and the backyard. That is reserved for our guests who are renting the upper duplex portion of our house. You will have your own private entrance to the guest suite. The only shared part of the property are the stairs leading up from the street. Other things to note There are a lot of stairs (18) to get up to the Studio entrance, as such, this property is not suitable for anyone with mobility limitations. Also, during the week, there will be the potential of construction noise, from 8am - 5pm, as the city is working on building a new bridge. Registration Details STR-OPLI-26-001891
