Chic spacious countryside getaway near Holt

This 130 square metre Scandinavian-chic country retreat right by the bank of the river Bure is perfect for a tranquil getaway all year round. Whether you want to explore the immediate surroundings such as the beautiful Bluebell Forest, have seaside walks in nearby Cley-next-the Sea, Blakeney or Salthouse, visit the upmarket town of Holt, or whether you simply want to read your book while hearing the river Bure flow by, this place is perfect for you. You might even see the Egret, say hello! The space This large two-bedroom home was completely refurbished in 2024, to offer Scandinavian chic style and comfort on the banks of the river Bure, to make for the ideal getaway. We do not run this as a business but it is our holiday home and we enjoy spending time there very much. It offers a large open plan kitchen with an island, an induction hob, a wine fridge and a cosy fireplace. There is also a large conservatory overlooking the river and the magnolia tree, which is ideal if you need to do some work while away on leave, or if you would like to some space and tranquillity to write your next bestseller. The house is a great base if you would like to explore the North Norfolk coast such as Blakeney, Cley-next-the-Sea or Salthouse or some of the stately homes nearby, such as Blickling Hall. It is a 10 minute drive away from Holt, where you can have a cappuccino at Two Magpies or pick up some fish from the local fishmonger, which is one of the best on the north Norfolk coast. Kitchen The kitchen is an open plan kitchen with an island and two highchairs. It is well equipped with an induction hob, electric oven, fridge, dishwasher and a large sink. Between the kitchen area in the living room there is a dining area to seat six people comfortably. Leading through from the kitchen is the utility room housing extra work in storage space, a microwave, as well as a washing machine/tumble dryer and a freezer. Living room The living room space is cozy and overlooks the River Bure and the garden. It allows you to enjoy the beautiful North Norfolk light and sky from within your living room, all year round. It has a small wood-burning stove, electric heating and a television with all of the usual services. Conservatory The conservatory has another large comfortable sofa looking out onto the garden and the river. It also has a separate tranquil workspace with views outside and lovely natural lighting. Master bedroom The master bedroom has a super king size bed and one of the windows looking out over the river, is very comfortable and calm. Second bedroom The second bedroom has a double bed and an ensuite bathroom. Bathrooms Both bathrooms were fully refurbished in a very stylish manner in 2024. Outside and garden There is a small seating area just outside the living room which can be accessed through the conservatory. It currently has space for 4 chairs and there is a barbecue available, as well as a fire pit. There is a beautiful magnolia tree at the edge of the property which blooms twice a year. There is also direct access to the river, which is very shallow, and in the heat of summer it is possible to wade in the river and to observe some of the wildlife nearby.
