Driftwood Cottage is a charming, cosy yet well sized character home. Beautifully furnished with period features whilst keeping its maritime surroundings in mind. Set in a quiet part of Ventnor and located close to the town and within short walking distance of the local beaches and picturesque harbour where fresh fish and seafood are landed and sold daily. Driftwood Cottage is great base from which to explore the rest of this amazing island. The space At the front of the cottage is an extremely welcoming and cosy living room, with electric wall heater and gas coal-effect fire that is perfect for those winter months. For entertainment, there is free WiFi, television with Freeview, and DVD player. Being an old cottage, it was originally built with the kitchen sharing the dining room space and had an outside toilet. Fortunately, the cottage has since had an extension, and now has a separate dining room that offers an equally cosy feel with a wooden dinner table to seat four. Heated with electric wall heaters and gas coal-effect fire. Driftwood Cottage comfortably sleeps four in two bedrooms located at the top of a traditionally steep cottage staircase, which although fitted with a handrail guests with limited mobility may find difficult climb. A cot can be provided if requested. Bedding and towels are included. The main bedroom is located at the front of the property. This is a bright double aspect room with a 5ft king size bed with Egyptian cotton linen. The room has an electric wall heater and ample cupboard and storage space along with Freeview Television. Bedroom two This is a charming bedroom overlooking the garden. It has two 3ft Zip and Link beds that can be joined to make a 6ft Superking sized bed. The bedroom is heated with an oil filled radiator. The Kitchen The kitchen is very well equipped with utensils and appliances including gas hob, double electric oven and grill, microwave, dishwasher, and separate fridge and freezer. The Washroom An extremely well presented shower room with toilet offers a large walk-in shower and cupboard containing the washing machine. The Garden & Parking The cottage has its own rockery terraced garden with furniture and steps to a upper patio and various sitting areas, perfect for alfresco dining or those warm summer nights. Driftwood Cottage has its own driveway which can accommodate two small cars or one large car. Guest access You are welcome to use the whole cottage with the exception of two looked cupboards.
