Our 1894 house has three floors with stairs between them — elevators hadn’t quite made it to Istanbul homes yet at those times, so enjoy your century-old stairs and a little piece of history! 😊 Our home is located right next to one of Balat’s iconic hills. However, access to the apartment from the Golden Horn waterfront is flat and without steep inclines, making it easy and convenient to reach. We have excellent public transport connections, with ferry, tram and bus stops just a few minutes’ walk away but there is no private parking in the building; however, if you find an available space, you may park on the street. Alternatively, you can use one of the private paid parking lots within walking distance. Other things to note This home is a protected historic building and an important part of Istanbul’s cultural heritage. We kindly ask our guests to respect this unique property and treat it with care. Please kindly note that this property is a licensed tourism residence. In accordance with local regulations, all guests — including children — are required to provide valid identification before check-in for official registration. For security and legal compliance, only registered guests are permitted to stay in the apartment. Inviting additional unregistered visitors is not allowed. In case of any violation, administrative fines imposed by the authorities may be required to be covered by the guests. Guests under the age of 18 cannot stay alone without written consent from their parents or legal guardians. We will deliver the property to you in a thoroughly cleaned and fully sanitized condition, following comprehensive disinfection procedures but we don’t provide daily cleaning service during your stay.
