This beautiful, casual, historic home, set in a residential neighborhood just 1.5 miles from the beach, is the oldest and best example of the Craftsman style of architecture found in the village of Seaside on the Monterey Peninsula. Built in 1910 by the Phelps family and located on a half-acre property, surrounded by organic gardens with private, gated parking, this property has views of Monterey Bay. Seaside is considered to be the sunniest place on the Bay. AVAILABLE : The Finch Small, bright yet cozy room with shared bath in private home, single (twin) bed, Has a foot board so if you are very tall maybe not appropriate. (Although this is a very small room it is one of our most popular). It has a 15 square foot closet the hides all your luggage, hardwood floors with natural fiber area rug, desk, wireless internet, spa bath robe provided. Bath towels, hair dryer, Dr Bronners soap, shampoo and conditioner provided as well but you may still want to bring your own shampoo and toiletries. We also provide ear plugs for those light sleepers. A light take-away breakfast is provided. Iron/ironing board available upon request. Rooms are cleaned with environmentally friendly products. We have a bus stop right in front of the house that can take you anywhere on the peninsula. Uber and taxis are also available. If you like to walk that is fine as well... but we are about 3 miles from downtown. Please remove your shoes as our floors are 100 years old. No smoking in the house. Quiet time is 11pm - 7am, Please be mindful of our white linens and towels. There will be a charge of $10 for any ruined item.
