Located directly on the historic Rennweg, it was a rest stop for travelers between Bamberg and Fulda. Today it is a wonderfully quiet domicile for vacationers. Brewing is only occasionally done as a hobby, on the ground floor of the house, to preserve the old tradition a little. There, on the front ground floor of the brewery, washing machine and dryer are available. Drinks are also available. The fitness room, sauna and swimming pond can be reached directly through the garden via your own high terrace. Bread service on request! Other things to note We would like to offer you the opportunity to stay as a guest in our vacation homes with a good, ecological conscience and to enjoy your precious free time with maximum comfort and minimal environmental impact. So what do we do to offer you a sustainable yet luxurious vacation? "Made in Germany" is a way of life for us as a carpenter family. The furniture is largely designed and manufactured by us from local woods and natural materials. We try to avoid plastics as much as possible. The general furnishings of the apartments are also from regional or German production with high quality standards and long durability. Yes, there are also air conditioners in Brauhaus 3, in all three apartments! It sounds like a contradiction, but it's not. Because at those times when the air conditioning is needed, the sun supplies more than enough electricity directly via our photovoltaic systems! We now produce and store almost twice as much electricity here as we consume ourselves. Solar thermal energy also warms our water with solar energy. Charging stations for electric vehicles: Our wallbox is always available to you with two connections for charging, for cars and bikes. Waste separation for recycling: Separate containers for plastic, paper, glass, organic and residual waste are available both in the apartments and in the carport. Smart energy saving: We work everywhere in the houses with energy-saving LED lighting technology and general paths are equipped with motion detectors so that no light burns longer than necessary. Opening windows results in an automatic shutdown of the heating. Heating with infrared heat: This also works with electricity. Targeted where you need heat, it makes a cozy feeling at lower room temperatures than with ordinary air circulation heaters in an ecological way. Smart water saving: water-saving toilet flushes have always been installed here. The showers are large and modern, but do not have an oversized water flow. The garden and swimming pond are supplied with large cisterns of rainwater. Swimming pond: A real biotope with crystal clear, natural water! Cleaned with gravel, reed and bio filters. Nutrients are consumed by the water lilies and underwater plants. Here dragonflies, water runners and many insects feel comfortable. The swallows come several times a day in summer to dive in and drink water, and from time to time amphibians, toads or a frog feel comfortable here. To the frogs, if you croak very loudly at night, we kindly recommend a nearby body of water where many of your kind are staying... Natural garden: Of course – who would have thought – we generally prefer native plants. The grass around the swimming pond is kept short by an electric mowing robot – during the day, of course, so that nocturnal animals do not get into danger. The short grass is important so that you do not come into contact with ticks when dreaming in the meadow. On the other hand, we also have real meadows, which are traditionally mowed only twice a year and thus provide the bees with a welcome menu. Untouched hedges, cairns and dead wood as a refuge for many small wild animals can also be found here. Again and again the majestic kites and buzzards circle above us, a pair of hawks usually breeds in the immediate vicinity in the crowns of tall trees. Even bats feel at home with us. Sometimes you can see them scurrying by at dusk. Refillable cosmetics: With shower gel and soap, we always experiment with different, environmentally friendly products to avoid small disposable plastic bottles. Soda streamers for sparkling tap water are available in all apartments. Ecological cleaning and washing: With our ecological cleaning agent, we can fertilize the plants after work with the cleaning water, no joke! We also use disinfectants, but only where they are really needed. And then only in such a way that they do not harm the sensitive bacteria in our own sewage treatment plant. So that they can continue to do their work for clean wastewater from our holiday complex. Regional products: When packing your welcome box, we prefer regional suppliers, buy in large containers and distribute in small, reusable containers to avoid packaging and to avoid wasting food as much as possible. On site, you will get one or the other tip for special, regional delicacies and for regional partners with whom we like to work together. The breakfast rolls hang in the reusable cloth bag on your apartment door in the morning. Regional artists always get a podium with us, be it for art exhibitions or small sessions. And there are always new, environmentally friendly solutions! Living and working sustainably has always been a matter of the heart for us as a carpenter family with now three grown children and a first grandchild, not just since the climate crisis and rising energy prices have been discussed. But in everyday life, here in the village, where public transport does not arrive, electric vehicles have been moving into our household for several years. And yes, quite honestly, we are quite a little proud of our vacation homes here in the middle of the Haßberge Nature Park. That we have been able to offer so many enthusiastic guests such a great time and continue to do so. And that with our work we can strengthen and promote this region, which is still so unknown to many.
