With four double bedrooms (two en suite), an open-plan layout, wood burner, and a sunny garden full of quiet corners, it’s ideal for couples, families, or solo guests. Peaceful and full of character, it’s a lived-in, welcoming space to slow down and enjoy village life. The space Charming Village House in the Heart of the Wessex Downs This four-bedroom listed house is tucked away in the historic racing village of Lambourn, right in the heart of the Wessex Downs, a peaceful area of wide open skies, rolling hills, and deep horse racing heritage. The house has four double bedrooms (two with en suites (one with bath, the other with bath and shower), one bedroom has a trundle bed that pulls out to a double), a spacious open-plan kitchen with a kitchen table, and a big dining table that seats ten, perfect for long, relaxed meals. Upstairs loo and downstairs loo also. There’s a wood burner in the living area for cosy winter evenings, and a utility room for muddy boots and coats after countryside walks. In summer, the south-west facing garden really comes into its own, a classic English country garden with plenty of nooks, hidden corners, and seating areas for reading, chatting, or just enjoying the sun. Whether it’s crisp winter weekends by the fire or long, lazy summer afternoons in the garden, this house is a welcoming spot to slow down and soak up the pace of village life. Guest access Guests have the whole house to themselves. You'll enter through the front door, and there's free on-road parking just opposite the house for easy access. Other things to note Other Things to Note Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 10am. Wi-Fi is reliable throughout the house. The wood burner is available for use, we provide a starter supply of logs during the colder months. On-road parking is available directly opposite the house. It’s usually easy to find a space, though not guaranteed at all times. The house is spread over two floors with stairs, so it may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. As a listed property, it comes with plenty of character, expect low beams, slightly uneven floors, and the occasional creaky stairs. This is very much a lived-in family home, not a hotel. It’s clean and welcoming, but not pristine, expect personality, warmth, and a relaxed feel. Lambourn is a working racing village, so don’t be surprised to see racehorses walking past the windows in the mornings, it’s part of daily life here. One well-behaved dog is welcome on request, just let us know in advance. Please note there is a small friendly farm cat who lives at the top of the garden, who comes with the property. What’s Provided Bedding and towels for all guests. A cot is available on request. A basket of children’s toys, plus board games and plenty of books to enjoy. Digital TV for quiet evenings in. House Notes Recycling is collected on Tuesday mornings, if you're staying over a Monday night, we’d appreciate it if you could put the bins out (instructions in the kitchen).
