Sierpe River Camp is an accommodation located on the banks of the Sierpe River just 30 minutes by boat from the town of Sierpe, which offers a piece of paradise on Earth, surrounded by tropical jungle and mangrove away from bustling and busy population centers considered as a magical place that offers you a getaway and a healing stay, refreshing and inspiring in the true Costa Rican paradise in the company of the soft sound of the waves and all the sounds offered by the nature of the area. The space The project has 7 private rooms available on a site that is far from populated areas, surrounded by nature, which you can reach only by boat. The rooms are located in a building just 25 meters from the dining room or common area and the kitchen and each can accommodate one to six people. They have sanitary service, bathroom or shower with cold water, sink and single or double beds, fans, electrical outlet and windows secured with sieve to keep them cool and to prevent insects from entering during the day or night. The dining room or common area is adjacent to the kitchen and 50 meters from the pier. It has tables, chairs, hammocks and a bar overlooking the river where you can listen to music, read, share with other people or simply appreciate the view of the river where you can appreciate the splendid nature in one of the most beautiful, pristine and paradisiacal areas of the southern region of Costa Rica. The Sierpe River Camp project You should know that this is a project that I, Carlos Daniel, a proud sierpeño, started 7 years ago with a little help from family and friends to build something truly authentic and unique in one of the most privileged areas of the southern Costa Rican zone. I am a captain with more than 30 years of experience at sea and management of national and international tourism groups. I am a Dive Master and if you are interested in diving or just snorkeling, I will personally take you to the most beautiful places in the area to discover the wonders in the depths of the Costa Rican Pacific Ocean. (check the rates of our dive tour packages) Dynamic and friendly collaborators with many years of experience work with me who will take care of the details to make your days with us unforgettable. They will coordinate the tours, take you along the trails of the property, give you information about the area or you can simply have a good chat with them. They will attend to your queries or needs while you are with us. And of course, you can not miss my dog Dony, an adorable Australian Shepherd who will accompany you while you enjoy the view of the river in the dining room or while you rest on the pier. Guest access You will have access to the entire property, which includes dining or common area, fully equipped kitchen, paths, common spaces where you can relax in a hammock, under the shady tree or on a hill. Boat dock from which you can fish. Your private room is yours alone and is set back from the common areas of the property to ensure your privacy. Other things to note How to get there? If you're traveling from San José by public transportation, direct buses from San José depart from Tracopa Station (Transportes Costarricenses Panameños) at Plaza Víquez (Calle 5 y Avendia 20) in San José, leaving at 8:30 am from Monday to Sunday. Direct buses from Sierpe to San José leave from Sierpe park in front of Ibarra drugstore in Sierpe from Monday to Sunday. Once you arrive to Sierpe, you have two options to get to Sierpe River Camp: -Public Transportation by boat: It goes from Sierpe to Drake Bay that makes stops along the way to drop off or pick up tourists. At the dock of the Oleaje Sereno restaurant, you look for the ticket manager and he will assign you a boat and an hour to leave to Sierpe River Camp. They travel twice a day every day: in the morning at 11:30 a.m. and before sunset at 4:00 p.m from the town of Sierpe. These boats depart and arrive with many tourists (up to 25 people carrying their luggage) traveling between the two cities and one of these can take you to Sierpe River Camp. This is the cheapest option for travelers but as it only has two departure times per day it may not adapt to the time while you are or arrive to Sierpe. The approximate cost per person is less than $15 USD. -Private transportation on my boat: I will take you and your luggage from my dock at the moment you are arrive or ready to go with more comfort for an additional $ 70, maximum 4 people. Keep in mind that the costs are not per person, but for renting a boat for a trip: (check which is the best transport option for you. If you arrive at Sierpe in your own car or a rental car, you can leave it parked on the property where my dock is located that has CCTV surveillance for just $ 6 each day. Tours The Pacific Ocean just a 5 minute boat ride away, and the largest wetlands and mangrove system right at our doorstep, there are limitless tour options. All of our tours are private, directly through us, leave right from the property, and include a professional guide (myself) and non-alcoholic drinks: - Kayak tour through the surrounding mangroves - 4 hour birdwatching tour by boat - All day Caño Island with snorkeling (lunch included) - All day Corcovado (San Pedrillo station, lunch included) - 4 hour waterfall tour (lunch included) - Mangrove and wildlife boat tour - Mangrove, wildlife, and beach tour by boat (lunch included) - Scuba diving (availability of diving spots depends on how far ahead of time you make the reservation. You can also make use of the internet and there is signal for phone calls so you can talk to your friends and family from paradise. (see more information about this option) Other highlights -The property is on the banks of the Sierpe River with a thick jungle behind the main buildings and is many kilometers from anything that looks like a city and is only accessible by boat, so we request the following: -Inform the manager if you suffer from any illness, allergy, if you require any specific medication, if you have any dietary restrictions or if you prefer vegan or vegetarian meals. -Provide the manager with a telephone number of one of their contacts to give notice in case of an emergency. -Bring some money in cash. In Palmar Sur and Sierpe there are no ATMs. The nearest are in Palmar Norte, 15 km away. -Take hand or head lamp to use at night in the route between the rooms and the common area to prevent accidents in general. -Follow all the recommendations when using the boat, in snorkeling, for the use of kayaks in the river and the guide on walks. -Remember to notify the manager if you go for a walk, kayak or swim. If you kayak it is better not to enter the secondary channels of the mangrove without the guidance of a local. Restrictions -Do not bring pets and / or pets. We have no one to take care of them. They suffer from heat, humidity and inattention and we humans from seeing them suffer and want to pay attention to other activities.
