BOLGA, a remote IDYLL N of the ARCTIC CIRCLE

Bolga is a beautiful island on the Helgeland coast with approx 85 friendly inhabitants, a grocery store and a tavern. Exciting conditions for hiking, climbing, bouldering, kayaking, diving, seakiting, fishing and foraging. The cottage is situated in the south-west corner, 2 km easy walking from the harbour. Daily connection with the mainland by ferry or local boat to/from Ørnes and express boat to/from Bodø/Sandnessjøen. You may observe the amazing Northern Light from September. The space As the whole family live and work in Oslo, we are not able to visit our cottage as much as we desire. However, such a gorgeous place should not be left unused. Therefore we open the cottage for other people to enjoy the experience of a simple life in a remote idyll. Please read all the information attached to each photo. We have 2 bicycles (as long as they work...), 1 bicycle hanger, 1 pull trolley, 2 kayaks, an aluminium boat, 4 life jackets for adults and 1 for children 15-30 kg, at your disposal. For safety reasons you should be experienced with kayaking before you set out on deep water. If you need more than our two kayaks, it is possible to rent kayaks on Bolga. We have 8 duvets and pillows for our eight beds (incl. the sofa) at your disposal. In addition we have three mattresses on the loft. So, if more than eight guests, you have to bring sleeping bags. Guest access Everything is at your disposal, except things in boxes marked "private". Further information in the manuals/handbook on site. Other things to note If there are two squeezed days inbetween two bookings, I can accept two days as a minimum (instead of normally three days). The water comes from a natural source. We have a system for purification of this water to make it safe to drink. Drinking water filled in 5 or 10 l plastic bottles can also be transported by the aluboat from the harbour in the "city". The hot tub is filled with water from this source. If the spring/summer gets very dry, you may experience that the filling takes quite a long time. If no water, then no bathing. We have solar power for lights and recharging of batteries for telephones and pc. And for a large combined fridge and freezer. The cooking oven is powered by gas. The main cottage is not completely insulated. But we have lots of firewood to keep it warm, if you should experience cold days! The cottage has in other words not the standard of a five star hotel. We like to call it a luxury ten star tent... To live in harmony with nature is a valuable experience for all of us! May be the trendy word "glamping" is an appropriate expression?
