The space Casa delle Rose is accessible through a large veranda covered with reeds, bordered on one side by an ancient stone wall, a testament to the ancient farmhouse of the second half of the 19th century, and on the other by a colorful rose garden from which we were inspired to choose the name of this house. It is spread across two floors. On the ground floor, you are welcomed into the spacious and bright living area, from which, in addition to the lush surrounding countryside, you can see the colors of a centuries-old Bougainvillea that paints the horizon that flows into the sea. A highly distinctive element of the House, as well as of this area, is the ancient stone wall, also a testimony of the ancient farmhouse mentioned above, which delimits one side. The living room is equipped with all comforts; the furnishings combine tradition, typicality and rurality with simplicity, sobriety and essentiality, it is also characterized by the presence of a large and efficient cooking corner in which the predominant element, as well as a link with the rural tradition of the area, is a hob and worktop made with Ceramic Tiles produced by a Master Ceramist of Sciacca; they show the colors, designs, geometries and inserts of a Sciacca ceramic production of the 1700s. Adjacent to the living area, our guest friends can enjoy a small pantry and a separate area that encloses the laundry space. Outside the living room, in the veranda covered with reeds, guests can organize their moments dedicated to food and also enjoy the cool evenings that the temperate evening climate of Sicily gives us. The ground floor is completed by one of the two bedrooms in the house. This first bedroom overlooks, through a large and bright French window, the veranda bordered by the rose garden and an oleander hedge. This room is also characterized by the presence of the aforementioned ancient stone wall, which in this case is enclosed in a masonry frame forming a picture above the headboard of the double bed. It has an independent bathroom that can also be used by people with disabilities. The furniture includes a double bed, a walk-in closet and a chest of drawers. The large French window can be closed by curtains made of completely blackout material to allow maximum comfort for guest friends who prefer to rest in the dark. From the living area, you can reach the upper floor through a single internal staircase, typical of rural homes in the area, which allows access to the second bedroom of the house. This, facing south, through a large and bright window enjoys the view and landscape that opens onto the valley and the sea. A French window, located on the north side of the room, opens onto a veranda covered with reeds from which, lying on simple, linear, but comfortable armchairs, you can enjoy the cool north wind and the geometries drawn by the lush rows of vineyards that delimit the area of the House. It also has an independent bathroom. The furniture includes two single beds, convertible into a double bed, a walk-in closet and a chest of drawers. Specific curtains on the windows, made with completely blackout material, allow maximum comfort for guest friends who prefer to rest in the dark. The House, also on the Upper Floor, is equipped with a very bright veranda, covered with beams and planks of chestnut from Etna, which faces south through a large window. The latter, delimiting the wide and deep visible panorama, is transformed into the frame of the natural picture it creates, in which the "painting" is represented by the countryside, the valley and the sea that closes the background. The house is fully air-conditioned and Wi-Fi is always active and accessible in all its indoor and outdoor areas. Guest access In addition to the spaces of specific relevance to the Casa delle Rose, guests can enjoy the Belvedere on the Menfi Countryside that merges to the south with the line of the Sea, as well as the Orto di Case Graffeo, obtained in a space delimited by a colorful hedge of Prickly Pears; the Vegetables, strictly Organic, that the Graffeo Family produces in this vegetable garden, can be collected directly by the Guests, from these transformed for the preparation of the delicious dishes of the local culinary tradition.
