Holidays in the Algarve

In our vacation home "Casa Margarida Azul", in the middle of the historic center of Silves, you will experience the Portuguese everyday life of an ancient city that rises with its castle on the banks of the Arade between hills and orange tree gardens. The mansion from 1857 was modernized by us in 2017/18, and created a symbiosis of traditional materials and a modern way of life. The space The kitchen, living room and bedroom have a hypermodern air conditioning system that you can use to heat on cold days. Particularly beautiful is the roof terrace, which rises above the rooftops of the city, unforgettable the light of the sunrises and sunsets and the typical "Algarve scent" of figs, oranges and strawberry tree - mixed with the salt of the fresh Atlantic air. From here, far from tourist strongholds, you can explore the beautiful landscapes, cities and beaches of the Algarve (the nearest beach can be reached in 12 minutes by car). By using organic cleaning and laundry detergents, people with allergies feel comfortable in the house. Allergy vacuum cleaner available. Pets are not allowed, no smoking in the house, no parties. (public road) Electricity Please understand that we have to charge for exceptionally high electricity consumption. (We charge 0.40 EUR per kWh for more than 15 kWh per day) Security deposit We will ask a deposit of €200 per stay. It will be used to compensate for any minor damage. The deposit can be paid online with Swikly and will be released shortly after departure. This will not reduce the credit limit of your credit card! Guest access You have access to the whole house! However, there is the possibility for an accompanying child to use the sofa bed in the living room or the large double bed. We also do this when we go on vacation with our son (12 years old). P.P.S. Every year in August, there is a big, spectacular festival in the old town of Silves, the "Feira Medieval de Silves". With this festival, the city commemorates its impressive history in the region.
