The space The National Trust’s Ashdown (6 miles) is an unusual Dutch-style house built in 1662 by Earl William Craven for the object of his affections, Queen Elizabeth of Bohemia. The house has limited opening, but the woodland grounds make a lovely dog walk. If horse racing is your thing, Newbury Racecourse is 14 miles away. Or just embrace the fresh air and take your pick of stunning walks within this National Landscape, incorporating both the rolling Berkshire Downs and the historic Ridgeway. Upon entering, head into the comfortable open-plan living area, incorporating a lounge seating eight, a dining area with an eight-seater table, and a well-equipped kitchen. This open-plan area lies within the main body of the barn, with a vaulted ceiling and exposed ancient beams, lending it lots of traditional character.
