Dogs or cats are not allowed The space 17th-Century Barn in Bergslagen: Authentic Living in Quiet Nature Welcome to a special stay in a beautifully restored barn dating back to the 1600s. This is not a typical home, but a warm and personal artist’s space where historic character meets simple, thoughtful design. It offers an invitation to slow down, reconnect with nature, and find peace in the heart of Bergslagen. Located in Järnboås, the property is surrounded by forest, open landscapes, and the quiet sounds of nature. It is a place to rest, breathe, and feel at home. The Space The barn features a spacious open-plan layout with beautiful wooden details and preserved historical character. Living Room & Kitchen: An open and welcoming main living area designed for relaxation. The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction stovetop, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, toaster, and kettle. Bedrooms: Two separate bedrooms, each with two single beds (90 cm). Cozy sleeping lofts beneath the old rafters offer additional, private sleeping spaces. Bathrooms: For your convenience, there are two toilets and two separate showers located behind the kitchen—ideal for groups of 4–6 people. Lakes & Nature Enjoy the simplicity of the outdoors—whether through walking, swimming, or just being in nature. Lindesbysjön (400 m): Ideal for a quiet walk or a swim. Finnsjön (1 km): Access to a swimming area and scenic trails. Adventure: Direct access to hiking trails, canoe routes, and the popular Bergslagen MTB (mountain bike) tracks. Linens & Cleaning Cleaning: Cleaning service can be booked for 500 SEK if you prefer a more relaxed departure. Due to the wooden floors and unique surfaces, cleaning takes several hours to perform properly. If you choose to clean yourself, all equipment and instructions are provided on-site. Bed Linens & Towels: Not included by default. You are welcome to bring your own or rent a set for 150 SEK per person. Please let us know when booking. House Rules Safety: Not suitable for infants or young children who cannot swim, due to ponds on the grounds and steep loft ladders. Pets: No pets allowed Environment: This is a place for peace; no parties or unregistered guests are permitted. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM – 07:00 AM. Check-in: Flexible self-check-in via a lockbox. Guest access Property & Pets Access: Guests are welcome to enjoy parts of the property. Please respect our privacy by avoiding areas clearly marked as Private. Dogs: no pets allowed Other things to note Safety: The barn has steep loft ladders and there are two ponds on the property (not suitable for non-swimmers). Fire Safety: Strictly no smoking indoors. No candles or incense due to the building's historical age (17th century)
