Description

The cottage is located an hour away from Tampere, in the courtyard of Eräjärvi's old vicarage. The ground floor of the cottage is a cohesive space. The same space has a kitchenette, fireplace, dining table, couch, and one single bed. Comfortably fits 5 people. If necessary, 1-2 extra beds can be brought downstairs. The sleeping loft has one 120cm wide double bed and two single beds. The drinking water is retrieved from the main building into a portable water container and the dry toilet is located in the adjacent building. The space The home is located in a scenic setting where you can admire the wide variety of plants and animals. The surroundings are peaceful and the sound landscape is mostly made up of natural sounds. The yard is located at the end of the road, limited to the forest and the shore of Lake Eräjärvi. There is a pier and moderate swimming facilities on the beach. The sauna doesn't have a shower, electricity, or running water. The water can be heated in the pot, and the lake water moves to the sauna by carrying. Sauna, lean-to, and campfire site are shared by tenants and hosts. The cottage has a refrigerator, a small electric stove, a small electric oven, a toaster, a coffee maker, a kettle, and the most common kitchen utensils, as well as silverware. The cottage has underfloor heating. In addition to underfloor heating, the cottage is heated with a tobacco oven if necessary. THINGS TO KNOW IN THE FALL The underfloor heating of the cottage is usually enough to keep the cottage at a comfortable temperature when the outside temperature is on both sides of the zero. If you want, you can get more warmth and ambiance in the cabin by making small fires for the fireplace. We heat the cottage ready for guests, so there's no need to come to a cold cottage. Our yard is lit, but it's getting really dark outside (including the beach sauna) in the fall evenings. So, be prepared, for example, with headlamps or flashlights. On September evenings, it's already a pleasure to see the stars in the darkness. THINGS TO KNOW IN THE WINTER In winter frosts, the underfloor heating of the cottage on its own is not always enough to keep the cottage warm, so the heating needs to be boosted with the circulation fireplace. We heat the cottage ready for guests, but during the visit, guests are responsible for heating the fireplace themselves. The fireplace doesn't afford long-term heat, so a fireplace is constantly required to maintain a small fire in hard frosts. In winter, washing outdoors can be uncomfortable, so we recommend buying a dish service from us in the winter (more details below). In winter, the washing water in the sauna is carried from the open at the end of the pier. The hosts will make sure the aperture is available. It is also possible to take a dip in the open. EXTRA SERVICES AND CLEANING The cost of the extra bed is €10/extra bed/night. You can either bring your own linens or rent them from us for 10€/person/visit. We provide guests with hand towels and dish towels, but larger bath towels are not included in the cabin equipment. Dishwashing is primarily done by hand on the terrace of the cottage in designated dishes. You can also buy dishes from us for €10/time. If you buy a dishwashing service during your stay, we will immediately bring new dishes to replace them. If necessary, schedule the dishwashing service separately with the host. The price of the final cleaning is 20€ (included in the service fee). While we do the final cleaning for you, please take care of these things before you leave: -The dishes or buy a dish service from us for €10. -Take trash to the garbage disposal. -Collect bottles and cans in a bag. -Throw the furniture into place. -Empty the fridge. -Go get the groceries you brought out. PETS Pets are welcome to us under certain conditions. If you bring a pet or more, let us know when you book. Our own dogs and cats are used to being free in the yard, so please note this when considering bringing your pet. DOGS If you are bringing a dog, please commit with us to ensure with us at the beginning of the stay how your own dog gets along with ours. After that, you can agree on a case-by-case basis on how to handle dogs, for example, when it comes to keeping it away. Please only bring us dogs that most often get along with other dogs. Our own dog is an uncut male who is very friendly and in a sense of situation with foreign dogs. CATS Cats can be accommodated as long as your cat is out of the harness or stays inside the cabin for the duration of their stay. Since we already have two cats that run free on the property and are turbulent, other disconnected cats can't be taken here. OTHER ANIMALS Other animals can be arranged on a case-by-case basis. Guest access The cottage is located in Orivesi, about 3km from the village of Eräjärvi. It's about 60 km from Tampere and 20km from the center of Orivesi. To get to the cottage, you'll need a car. Parking is in the immediate vicinity of the cottage. SERVICES in the village of Eräjärvi there is, among other things, a convenience store, a post office, and a pub/lunch restaurant. There are more shops and services in the center of Orivesi. Other things to note We recommend bringing outdoor clothing and rubber boots to the cottage. It's also a good idea to be prepared in the summer, as mosquitoes, burners, and other owls stay here. In winter, it's worth booking a lot of warm change of clothes. The hosts are busy in the yard, but there's not much contact with the neighbors. Instead, you're likely to come across a variety of insects, mice, myths, access, swans, darts, and bats. With any luck, you might spot hawks, eagles, or collar with a special sound in the shelter. Our friendly dog or two curious cats might head for the cottage, but you don't have to let them in. Horses thrive in their own cave behind fences and aren't interested in cottage accommodations. The cottage is guarded by Owl Robber's King, which is benevolent to our guests but keeps uninvited intruders at bay. The bank is on call behind the cabin on the edge of the forest.
