Cala Fearnadh Off-Grid cabin, Bunessan, Mull

Cala Fearnadh is a new, unique, off-grid cottage in a quiet village, with stunning sea views of Staffa and the Treshnish Isles, and beyond. There is nothing quite like it anywhere on the island! Electric power is 12 volt, generated by a combination of solar and wind energy. Water comes from the tranquil Loch Assapol, which supplies much of the area. The space There are 2 bedrooms: one with a king bed; the other a double, which can convert to 2 singles. There are 2 bathrooms, each with shower and toilet - one is en-suite with the king bedroom. There is a small, well-equipped kitchen - note the fridge has no freezer compartment. The living area has a cosy wood stove. The wood stove heats the whole building, and in winter it is essential to keep it maintained. Please make sure someone in your party is competent and confident with wood stoves! (Logs and kindling provided) Guest access The building is perched on quite a steep property with a stepped pathway which might be a challenge for those with mobility issues. You will have access to the whole property, however there is a steep bank and a stream bordering the west side; and thick, prickly gorse bushes as you go up the hill. So due care should be taken, and appropriate parenting skills used where children are involved. Other things to note Dogs are welcome, and we provide dog mats for you to use. We ask that you try to keep them off the furniture and beds. Please be aware that the cabin is accessed via quite steep and narrow steps which might be a challenge for some, and a little treacherous during inclement weather - please take care - a torch/phone light might be useful when arriving after dark!
