Enjoy comfort in en-suite bedrooms(2xking,1xQueen). The space Our beach home is in the front line of houses in Elands bay South. From the lounge, deck and upper look out chill-area it has an several unobscured views of the surf break from take off to beach. It looks down on the mouth of the vlei where a large array of magnificent bird life floats, wades, fishes, calls and sings. Through the back gate there is direct access to a path leading to the beach via a few minute walk. The roadside of the house looks out onto the rocky fynbos hill, the peak of which is circled and perched on by a resident Verreaux Eagle pair. Elandsbay is a very peaceful place which somehow induces immediate relaxation. There is a vibration in the area (perhaps due to the interplay of sea and slopes) which truly leaves one feeling moved. This possibly lead to the Khoisan of ancient times choosing a cave which is 20 minutes walk from the house to paint rock paintings of swollen rain animals and hunters while performing their ceremonies. Guest access You will have access to the entire house except the laundry, garage and one of the four bedrooms, which will be locked. We have provided bedding, towels, body and hand wash, toilet paper, cleaning materials and basic herbs and spices. As this is our holiday home which we use regularly, we have locked a food cupboard with our own supplies as well as one of the linen cupboards. Everything else is for your use and enjoyment. Other things to note There are two small cafes in Elands bay which stock only the most basic products including milk, eggs, bread, cleaning products, potatoes and sometimes other vegetables, apples and sometimes other fruit, frozen meat, snacks and drinks typical of a café. There are two complete liquor stores which only stock a small variety of wines. Permits for collecting mussels and diving crayfish are available at the post office. The hotel has a restaurant and bar and two more restaurants (“Vensterklip” and “Die mossel pot”) are found in the area. Both of the restaurants also have bars and all three have TV viewing facilities for sport events.
