L’Iris: Rustic & Authentic Gîte – Southern Cévennes

Nestled at an altitude of 600 meters (1,968 feet), in an 18th-century Cevennes farmhouse, this rustic and comfortable cottage invites you to disconnect, relax, and contemplate. Situated at the starting point of numerous hikes, close to Mont Aigoual and the Hérault River, this vacation rental is ideally located for enjoying quality family time in a pristine setting. Come and stroll through its gardens and idyllic woods, and cool off by the pool, with stunning views of the southern Cévennes. The space We are Maëva and Guillaume, your hosts for your stay. We have just taken over the reins to continue welcoming you to this true haven of peace in the Cévennes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The entrance to the cottage is separate from the main farmhouse where we live. At the entrance to the cottage, you will find an initial small stone terrace. On the main floor, you will find a first bedroom with a double bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room opening onto a lovely terrace that is shaded in summer. Upstairs, there is a second spacious bedroom that can accommodate up to 4 people (+ a baby), as well as a reading or relaxation area. Access to the pool is shared with other potential guests. In the peak season, rentals are by the week (from Saturday to Saturday). Please bring bed linens and towels (also available here for an additional fee). We speak English and Spanish:) Other things to note To ensure a true return to basics, the property does not have a TV. However, games and books are available.
