Ascend the Northern Fells of Bowscale and Carrock right from the door, or for the more adventurous, tackle the iconic summit of Blencathra. The space For those wishing to explore on gentler terrain or who are on the lookout for wild swimming hotspots, the cottage is located on the doorstep of the short walk (1.5 miles) to Bowscale Tarn, a wild swimming gem steeped in local legend. Venturing down the valley will take you to the secluded Swineside pools, while the Cumbrian Way offers a longer challenge through stunning landscapes. Cyclists will love exploring quiet lanes and off-road tracks, with both the iconic routes of the Coast-to-Coast and Lakes-and-Dales Loop within easy reach (0.5 mile). Picturesque Caldbeck is 6 miles, while the shores of Ullswater lake are 11 miles. Step through the shared Georgian hallway and into your own peaceful escape. Inside, you’ll find a stylish open-plan lounge, kitchen, and dining area, designed for comfort and connection. Settle into the plush sofa and watch your favourite shows on the Smart TV or simply lose yourself in the sweeping fell views. The compact kitchen is cleverly designed and fully equipped for easy holiday cooking, complete with a handy breakfast bar for morning coffee or casual bites. For more formal meals, there’s a separate dining table for romantic dinners or leisurely brunches. Also on the ground floor is a gleaming shower room. Upstairs, the king-size bedroom offers a restful retreat with rural views for long lie-ins and lazy mornings. Guests also have access to their own private garden area with a fire pit for evenings under the stars. You may also catch a glimpse of free-roaming Herdwick sheep, which often wander by at sunset.
