The quiet, peaceful serenity of Dragonfly Earth Medicine Guest House will calm your senses the moment you enter. Fully equipped, large open kitchen; and lots of room for entertaining a large group at the dining table or living room. Walking distance to great food, groceries, hiking, biking and nature trails. The space Gorgeous 80 year old house in Eugene, nestled in the fir and maple trees of the South hills, Friendly street neighbourhood off the Lorane highway. Your stay here will make you feel you are suspended on a very large tree house, as the only view off the deck are the moss and ivy covered trees. further adding to a feeling of tranquility, peace and seclusion. There is access to a few places to eat, a dispensery and a health food store within a 10 minute walk down funky Friendly street. There are also many walking/biking paths in the area. We are within 1-2 hours of many ski hills, swimming holes, day and extended hikes, hot springs, and amazing, world class adventure get aways. This place is a gem, as it is very PRIVATE and QUIET, yet still a 10 minute drive from downtown. Although, you may not want to leave DEM Guest House! 5 spacious bedrooms with a very large master bedroom and windowed day bed with private ensuite bathroom and king sized bed that also leads to the 70 foot wood deck. Another bedroom leads out to the semi-attached, 8-person therapy hot tub. Spacious bedrooms, tastefully decorated and designed for your comfort in mind. Both downstairs bedrooms have full beds, and one has a windowed day bed, used for sleeping, sitting or lounging. The downstairs has it's own full bathroom. Both shower stalls and the kitchen sink are all filtered for chlorine and heavy metals. Soft skin and hair, no chlorine smells, and no need to buy your drinking water! The therapy hot tub is connected to the house with a covered roof which leads to a private, enclosed hot tub zone with its own small deck. We treat the hot tub water with only food grade hydrogen peroxide. No stinging eyes, toxicity or skin dryness from chlorine! DEM Guest House stays surprisingly cool and airy in the hot months and has an excellent heating system in the winter, with a wood stove and furnace. Guests may also request infra red heaters for personal use, if needed. There is ample room for 12+ guests to sleep, eat, drink and be merry. Oh, about that deck....there's a BBQ, lounge chairs and beautiful flowers seasonally. We are very inclusive and hope anyone would feel comfortajble staying with us, no matter what culture, religion, sexual orientation, creed, or mind set you come from. Guest access There are 4 entrances to Dragonfly Earth Medicine Guest House. 3 bedrooms have their own private entrance. There is a private suite on the property but, it is only used when there are not guests. Please notice and respect Private signs. If there is a tenant/guest in the suite, requesting booking guests will be notified before booking is accepted. There is room for 4 vehicles in the driveway. There is not any parking on the road because it is a narrow, dirt road. The driveway is quite short, but steep for low clearance cars, come in at an angle and it is easy in and out. Other things to note No partying, please. This is our family home and a blissfully quiet neighbourhood and we have a great relationship with our neighbours. Please let us know of your intended use so we can accommodate any specific needs. We want everyone to have a good time, and Dragonfly House is indeed a wonderful gathering place for reunions, get-togethers, and low-key gatherings. There are house rules that we expect to be followed: No shoes in the house. Absolutely no cigarette smoking except outside, away from the house. Respect the hot tub. Clean bodies going in, wiping feet on the way in and before entering the house. Make sure kids or those weak of the bladder use the toilet before descending into extreme relaxation. Separate hot tub towels, bath robes and slippers are provided for your warmth and comfort! Please leave the house the way you found it. Clean up your own spills and messes, do your own dishes (there is a dishwasher), sweep the floor and tidy up. Leave the house laundry, dusting and floor washing to us. Cloths and home made cleaning solutions are kept above the washer and dryer. Keep the heater on low/ around 60 at night upon retiring and when leaving the house. The house warms up very quickly when the heat is turned on, so no fear of the cold, although if there are health/comfort concerns, we want to know so you can feel warm and loved! The heater is located outside and can be quite loud at night, so we use it minimally at night in consideration to our neighbours. We also have many extra duvets and blankets. Slippers are provided. Please ALWAYS use the exhaust fan while showering. This cuts down on moisture build up. Please put only compost in the compost bucket. If you are creating lots of organic waste at a time, there is a Giant Garden mushroom (stopharia rugoso-annulata) patch that would gladly receive that organic matter form the compost bucket. There are separate recycling bins and a glass recycling bin in one of the kitchen cupboards for all your clean plastic, tin, metal, tetra-paks, paper and glass. You can also place them directly into the bins provided in the garage. Green upright bin is garbage, blue box is glass and the large upright blue bin is recycling (which includes tetra-paks). Please don't dispose of recycling or food waste into the trash. Although there are low flow shower heads installed, and 2 hot water tanks, if there are lots of guests, be mindful of saving water. Lock the windows and doors, keep the front light on and return the key in the lock box upon leaving.
