3 bedroom cottage Gateway to Brecon Beacons
3 bedroom cottage Gateway to Brecon Beacons
Description
Tucked within the courtyard of Llwynywermod — the historic Welsh residence once home to King Charles III — North Range offers a rare kind of stay: genuine royal heritage, without a hint of stuffiness. Beautifully restored using traditional Welsh craftsmanship, the cottage blends antique furniture, local textiles, and underfloor-heated stone flooring with the quiet comforts you’d expect of a five-star escape — large baths , wood-burning stove, and views across 192 acres of private parkland. The space Cottage offers a tranquil retreat on the 192 acre Llwynywermod Estate – once the Welsh home of King Charles. Surrounded by rolling fields and woodland, this charming courtyard cottage blends traditional character with modern comfort. "You'll be staying moments from Myddfai, the village at the heart of a centuries-old Welsh legend: the Physicians of Myddfai, a medieval lineage said to have learned the art of healing from a lake spirit and passed their remedies down through generations. Nearby Llyn Fach — a still, folklore-steeped lake long associated with healing and reflection - remains a quiet pilgrimage for those seeking calm. Guests drawn to Reiki, yoga or simply reflective walking will find this landscape has been considered a place of restoration for hundreds of years, long before the word 'wellness' existed." Inside, enjoy a cosy kitchen with wooden worktops and beams, a large welcoming dining area and sitting area with large sofas. Upstairs are three restful bedrooms (one double two twins and two bathrooms with large baths and shower. Relax in the gardens , explore the estate’s wildflower meadows and walled garden, or join onsite wellness sessions such as yoga, reiki, massage or guided walks. A private chef can be arranged. By day, step straight onto the doorstep of the Brecon Beacons National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog), with waterfall walks, wild swimming, and some of Wales’s best-kept mountain trails minutes away. By evening, retreat to a courtyard so still you’ll hear nothing but birdsong — and pour a glass of something good in front of the fire North Cottage is a peaceful hideaway where nature, comfort, and history meet. Reliable high speed Starlink WiFi connectivity on site, suitable for remote work or content upload needs. Other things to note Llwynywermod is my home to share — a 192-acre estate in the Brecon Beacons that was once the private Welsh residence of King Charles III. Today it’s home to three individual cottages — North Cottage, West Cottage, and Gatekeeper’s Cottage — each restored with care, each offering its own private space within the same historic courtyard. Beyond the cottages, this is a place designed for slowing down. On-site wellness experiences can be arranged with advance notice, including therapeutic massage, Reiki, and holistic healing treatments, massages , reflexology guided walks through the estate’s wildflower meadows and ancient woodland, and a private chef for an intimate evening in. Whether it’s a romantic weekend or a longer restorative escape, these touches turn a stay here into something guests remember long after they’ve left. For the more active guest, mountain biking and paddleboarding can be arranged nearby, with qualified guides and trainers on hand. Whether you’re exploring countryside trails by bike or gliding across the water under expert guidance, it’s another way to add adventure to a restorative stay. I look after all three cottages personally with a great housekeeping team , so whether you’re booking one for a quiet retreat or all three for a family gathering or group of friends, you’re getting the same attention to detail and the same slice of Welsh history throughout. Guests often ask about combining cottages for larger groups — happy to help coordinate that directly, just send a message before booking. I respond quickly and love making sure every stay here feels effortless.
