Duras is situated in the Aquitaine region of SW France, in an area often referred to as "Little Italy" because of its resemblance to the Tuscany region of Italy, with rolling hills of vineyards, prune orchards, sunflowers, picturesque towns and villages; it also benefits from a wonderful sunny microclimate, pleasant cool Westerly breezes from the Atlantic and ideal relative humidity. The town is about 1 hour drive from the City of Bordeaux and 40 minutes from Bergerac (both of which have airports); Toulouse airport and the beautiful beaches of the Cote d'Argent are both about 2 hours drive away. The apartment occupies the entire Ist floor of an old townhouse (the ground floor of which used to be an Apothecary shop); access is via an entrance hall at the rear of the building.
