Hauganes is a friendly small fishing village of 140 inhabitants on the west side of Eyjafjörður in North Iceland. It lies 2 km. from the main road to Dalvík/Ólafsfjörður/Siglufjörður and lies 12 km. from Dalvik and 30 km. from Akureyri.The apartment is in a two apartment house. The apartment is 70 m2 on two floors,in in the north end of the house and stands next to the sea with a beautiful view in all directions. It can be said that the view is one of the advantages of the apartment. The house is built about 1950 and has been extensively refurbished. The second floor is an open space with living room, kitchen and TV room, where there is a sofa bed for two. On the ground floor there are two bedrooms and a bath. The rooms accommodate two each room. There is a grocery store a swimming pool and places where you can buy grilled food and hamburgers in Dalvík. Hauganes is situated in beautiful countryside and has a small harbour. Two whale whatching boats are situated there and cruises are availeble most mornings and you are 99% certain to see a whale. On some days you can even see whales from the living room window. Árskógssandur is another small village 5 km. from Hauganes. Its a nice hike over there on a qiet country road (the road to Brimnes farm and over a small walking bridge)
